Disney Investigates Labor Abuse Charges in HKDL

I was leaving the World Of Disney around noon yesterday and saw the protest. They were well behaved and I didn't see any problems (I didn't hang around either). Someone was in a (pretty bad) Minnie costume. Disney's private security guards were there to make sure customers could get in and out of the store.

I just wanted to point out that these people (those paid .42 an hour) do not work for Disney. They work for companies that Disney buys products from. These groups go after Disney rather than the companies that are the issue because they are the big name and get the cause into the international news.bhg469 said:

The salary mentioned is for a factory in China. Considering that you can get a good bowl of noodle for only $1 in the smaller cities, 42cents isn't as bad as it sounds. But yes, the slave labor practices are cruel. The salary range in HK is about the same as here in the US. Prices vary depending on where you stay.....tourist areas, expensive....local hangouts...cheap. So the admission price will probably be around the same price as the US. The people who come over from the mainlain to visit HK are the wealthy middle and upper class people...the ones Disney wants to attract. They usually come over on Fridays and leave on Sunday. And they always bring CASH only for shopping. If you look closely, you can tell who they are. The usually pull out wads of cash to pay for everything.

HKDL admission will be $38 USD on weekdays, and $45 USD on weekends and holidays.
