DISNEY infomercials

How many of you watch the DISNEY infomercials? The hour long commercial that explores everything in DISNEY & DISNEY crusie lines? I've seen them like100 times. I always watch them every time i see they are on .
LOL. You must be talking about those Disney specials like "Disney World: Behind The Scenes", etc. that air on the Travel Channel, etc. They show them like around the holidays or just before summer. I think the Disney cruise line one was on TV the other day. There used to be a thread here and any time one of these shows would come on TV -- someone would update it but, not anymore.

I used to get all excited and watch them if I happen to catch it on tv back when I was teen. Those shows are seriously old now, but I know Disney would update the end with something new going on in the parks. They are very fun to watch though.

I've watched them hundreds of times too, even though they are outdated, they give me a peek at Disney when I'm feeling sad that I'm not going anytime soon. Sometimes I just throw in an older Disney trip planning DVD ( one of the ones that once were good to watch) and dream of going back. Or I'll check out the ride throughs of my favorite rides on Youtube.

The only problem about watching them now....Is whenever they show anything about DHS is just a dissapointment because half of it doesn't exsists anymore..
More then half actually. A few days ago the History Channel had the two hour Walt Disney World, Modern Marvels special that they have been running for about 10 years now. Just the introduction had at least 60% failure rate. So many things just aren't there any longer. I would think that Disney would ask them to stop running them since so many people are bound to be disappointed when they get there and what they thought was there, is no longer. However, I guess it is free promotion so why kill a golden goose. The one part that gets me the most is old "earlobe dragging the ground" Joe Rohde so enthusiastically promoting the Yeti and how magnificent and spectacular it is. Can we say fans and strobe light? And if they were to say "and as Walt would say... Plus it" one more time they would have to carry me off in a padded wagon.

And what is with that ear thing anyway. If he's trying to make a statement at this point it is saying: Please look at me, I need attention! I doubt that most people that talk with him directly ever know what he even says. They are distracted by that chandelier thing hanging down to his toes. At his age, it is long past being cool. OK, rant over... he can do what he wants it really doesn't affect me at all. Just an observation.

Here's what that's all about...
Rohde's trademark is a large collection of earrings he wears in his left ear, all of which are souvenirs from decades of travel to remote corners of the world

I have a love/hate with those infomercials, particularly the ones shown on-property with "Stacy". While I love the great views of everything in the World and the information presented on them, I tend to hate the hosts of those shows because they act like complete idiots, spouting off stupid jokes (or attempts at humor) that are always lame. Stacy has always been the worst, in my opinion, but I've watched other specials too through YouTube and they have their share of lousy hosts too.

Most people keep a scrapbook and don't look anywhere near as silly. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against piercings or earrings, but, that one is well beyond a purpose and right square into weird especially considering his position in life. He gets away with it, for now, because many consider him an "artist" and therefore somewhat eccentric. I hope for his sake and his ear that he curtails travel for a bit. If you notice as people get older the constructive tissue in the ear gets weaker and ears sag and elongate all on their own, with no help at all. Within a few years he is going to be dragging that collection of memorabilia behind him.:in pain::joyfull:

I agree, I think it looks stupid and is just a scream for attention.

Those are actual programs. In Chicago after midnight, I forget the network, but they are running true one hour infomercials for the DVC. The hour features three or four different family types and follows them around as they sell you why they each bought into DVC.

Yet another good reason not to live in Chicago! ;)

This one is only 15 minutes long. Maybe they splice a few together to make the 60 minutes network infomercial. I don't remember seeing the muppets in the network version. What's wrong with Chicago? We seem to only have two seasons, winter and summer and can go from -20 to 105 over the course of the year.

We actually watched one of these in my Economics class, and I liked it! I also like to watch the ones on the channels at the hotel when there's nothing else on and my parents are busy. Although last time, I only watched a few minutes because Yo-Kai Watch was on.

I don't think I've ever seen an hour long informercial on Disney, unless you're talking about the Travel Channel specials in which those are completely different.
