Disney Imaginations Contest Question?

Hello! I have previously entered the WDI Imaginations competition, but did not make it very far. However, I completed a few works of concept art that I would like to put in my portfolio for jobs, etc. I was wondering if I am allowed to put materials created for the competition, featuring Disney characters and settings, into a portfolio? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

I may be completely off base here, but I would think that as long as you are not representing yourself as a Disney designer/Imagineer you would be fine.

Present your artwork as just what it was - as material created for a competition. This would show that you are capable of creating ideas and artwork within guidelines and scope. Balance that with other non-Disney artwork and I don't think anyone would have a problem with it.

You should be fine as long as you clearly state that the designs were a part of imaginations design contest held by walt disney imagineering. As you know all concepts entered into the contest become sole property of disney and wdi... So it clearly needs to state that as well. This is how wdi has told finalists to state work done for imaginations in the portfolio:

This piece is a part of a project conceived by (your name here) and created for the (year you entered) Walt Disney Imagineering’s ImagiNations Desgin
Competition. This project is the sole property of Walt Disney Imagineering and all rights to use these ideas are property of WDI. The competition is a way for students to showcase their talents and for Disney to identify new talent.
