LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) -- The Walt Disney Co. has greenlighted the comedy "Raising Helen" with Kate Hudson and Garry marshall coming aboard to star and direct, respectively, for studio-based Hyde Park Entertainment. The project is scheduled to begin shooting in February. "Helen" revolves around a young woman (Hudson) who works as an assistant to the head of a modeling agency and is about to be promoted. Her world is turned upside down when her sister and brother-in-law die in a car crash and she is left to care for their three children, ages 9-15. "Helen" was rewritten by Jack Amile and Michael Begler and polished by Au-drey Wells. Hudson recently shot Fox Searchlight's "Le Divorce" and is in production on Paramount Pictures' romantic comedy "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." She also stars in the upcoming Paramount Pic-tures/Miramax Films feature "Four Feathers." Marshall is reuniting with Disney, for whom he helmed last sum-mer's hit "The Princess Diaries" and the 1990 blockbuster "Pretty Woman."
