I read once on these boards that disney was looking into making homes or luxury homes in disney (I'm not referring to celebration)

I cant find the thread, and was interested if that was a joke or if they were really going to do it

Back around 1975 or so, in what was then called the Resort Community of Lake Buena Vista (now Saratoga Springs) there were model homes. Called Grand Vista Suites or Grand Vista Homes, they were originally intended to be models for a planned community. As always, plans change and the homes were made available for guest stays and were part of the Village Resort. They were located on the Sassagoula River side of the present Grandstand section of SSR, and could be seen from the river boats.

They were demolished to make way for SSR.

I think the OP was alluding to a thread in the last 12-18 months that talked about a limited number of ultra-luxury homes on the property that were aimed at international buyers with big bucks. I remember it too. I believe it was connected with some other project, like the Western Way expansion.

yes that was exactly what I was talking about, although the info the other poster posted was interesting too

anyone know more about the western way/ultra luxury homes?

Actually, I believe they're talking about the Four Seasons project in he northeast corner of the property.

While the main phase of the project will be the Four Seasons hotel, there are other aspects to that project. The official press release said that it would include "a luxury hotel, 18-hole championship golf course, single- and multi-family vacation homes and fractional ownership vacation homes."

And technically, because they de-annexed the property from RCID, they won't technically be "on-property".

The re-built Treehouses are already open and a part of the DVC at Saratoga Springs.

I also heard this. They were putting them at the end of the road as you past OKW, where you have to go right or left. I heard it from multiple CMs . But I am not easily fooled so.....:shrug:

It's not really a secret. That's the location of the Four Seasons development. See my Post #5 above and its links for more info.
