Disney Gift Cards for Hotel

I've been given a couple of Disney gift cards for Christmas, and even though it would hardly make a dent, I would like to use these to put towards the remaining balance on my stay at Disneyland Hotel. Are you able to do this or do you have to pay with a credit card or cash at the time of your stay? Anyone know?
