Disney for Sale?

Reading all the stuff regarding the battle between Roy/Stan and Eisner, interesting bits and pieces are found in all the articles all over the place. Its made me think, Disney's getting rid of their sports teams, getting rid of the stores, they lost Pixar, the stock value in decreasing, Eisner will be out by atleast 2006....is it possible that the company will be sold? Could Eisner if he wanted sale the company or pieces of it? I know its a fear out there...just wondered what everyone thought on the issue.

Given Eisner's recent history, if je can make a goodly sum of money, he'd sell Disney in a heartbeat. I just hope it doesn't end up in the hands of Fox.

Don't think Eisner could sell the company on his own. As far as divesting themselves of sport teams, etc. they wanted to get back to just entertainment.(movies & Themeparks) I personally don't think any good will be done until Eisner is out. Yes, he has done some great things, but he now has the persona of somebody who has stayed too long at the dance...ineffective at the least and dangerous at the most. Just my .02. :wave:

Thats one of the rumors I have heard but I have no solid sources behind it. The name I have heard kicked around is Time Warner.

Of course I don't know. Time Warner may already be under the Disney umbrella for all I know.

Oh I only wish I had enough trillions of dollars to buy the whole place lock, stock, and barrell. Then I would buy back all the stocks from the shareholders. That way I wouldn't be beholden to them. And then sink a billion a park to update them. Of course, all in my dreams.

Me to but you would have to share it with the Disney family, they own a huge chunk of the company. And yet the Disney family is treated like crap at the stock meetings...


Anywho... i just hope we dont see DIsney turn into another Vivendi Universal who would be foolish enough to sell it off bit by bit to outside companies.

I hope mitchell gets some brains before March 3rd or else he might find himself in the same hole as Eisner!
