I just found out that I was accepted to the University of Central Florida! When I begin classes next summer I want to get a part time job at WDW. Will WDW accomidate my class schedule so that I can work around it?

Only if you're part time. If you go full time its alot harder to get them to work with your school schedule. But as long as you're part time you tell them the days you want to work. (it has to be at least 2 days a week) Hope this helps. You'll love UCF.

First off, congrats on getting in!

If you're planning on working part-time all you need is to be available at least 2 days a week. (all day)

Once you schedule your classes, you'll be able to see what days you have left open... if you have 2+ open days, you can do part-time over at Disney.

Congrats on UCF. Are you at the main campus or one of the others? Reason being, main campus is at least 45 minutes away from Disney (so I've been told).

Rosen campus (where I am) is only 5 minutes away.

And like the others have said, if you're PT, they will be flexible with your schedule (and mainly have you work just weekends because of that).

I'm in an internship program with Disney and they are very good about my schedule. Cognates on getting into UCF you are going to love it here, Go Knights! And Donald23, this may be a little bias since I love it here but, UCF is a great school. Some things are better than others, but it just depends on what you're going for.

I have an application right now in. But, since I'll be doing to CP, if I get in for Spring, I'll have to defer it to next Fall! :(

I don't know about other departments, but my department has something called "Red time" that's put in the schedule. It means that they can't schedule you during that time. If you can discuss getting red time added in, and you have a decent schedule, you may be able to do evening shifts, which will equal the number of hours required to make you part-time.
And you'll have to consider the kinds of extracurriculars you might want to do. If any land on weekends, and you're working during the weekend...you might get to be unhappy eventually.

Sorry to not be able to answer your question, but that is exactly what I want to do when I graduate high school. I was wondering what you guys are majoring in for work at wdw, and how hard of a school is it to get into?

I am going to the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at UCF and my major is....you guessed it, Hospitality Management (with an emphasis in Lodging Management).

My friend is at Rosen College right now and is Seasonal (last I remember, but I'm not sure what he is officially classified as). He works weekends normally and during the Halloween and X-mas parties he put in for more shift during the week too.

I guess I'm kinda digging up a semi-old topic but...

Congrats on UCF, i got my acceptance for this summer to UCF earlier this month as well so I plan on doing the same thing or working for an Orlando production company.

I have a friend from high school who is down there right now at UCF and working part time at the parks and he has told me not to worry that they are good about it, he has even managed to work his way up fairly quickly even though he is part time.

See all you UCF ppl June!
