Welcome to a fellow NY'er.
I have Disney fever all the time. We should be planning our spring trip, but are going to skip it this time.:(
We are still heading to Florida so I'm hoping I can talk them into at least a day trip to the MK.
Rest assured, you are not alone.

i totally understand your disappointment. I know this past summer was rough, seemed like no matter what we did or where we went, my mind was comparing it to trips to wdw.

HAHA!! Glad I'm not alone. My parents and sister think I'm crazy when I get like this. I start looking through all of our albums upon albums of WDWR pictures, watch over 2 hours worth of WDWR home video, and watch all of the movies I downloaded from wdwmagic.com (before they started charging :brick: :hurl: ) and they all think i'm crazy!! lol..currently I'm listening/watching to/the Fantasmic_show.wmv file I downloaded from wdwmagic.com, what a great show.

Ask my wife. It is a disease I get annually, and the only cure is the moment we arrive on property.

The problem (according to her) is that I am passing this disease on to my sons (3 and 4).

I personally don't think I have a problem

I don't think you have a problem either. I've passed my love of Disney on to my 2 girls (15 & 9).
My husband just has to go along with us...he has no choice.

Tigsmom, when was the last time you went to Wilderness Lodge? Or do you go to the campgrounds? We took the boat over to the campgrounds from the lodge but we felt it was too crowded to get food, we had to fight our way through a mob to get past the dinner show place or whatever it is. We were actually concidering going there instead of the lodge because of costs, but we decided not too because we didn't like it.

We stayed at the WL this past August. Trips to Fort Wilderness need to be timed to avoid the start times for the Hoop-Dee-Do.
There is so much to see over there...its worth the trip (esp near sunset...beautiful).
We have stayed at the Contemporary and the Poly, but love the WL best; we live upstate (in the woods) so to us its like being home (but my house isn't so well run. )

Catch the Disney Fever! Pass it on! :sohappy:

HAHA!!:sohappy: That's what I say to the rest of my family!! Do you prefere the ground floor in the court yard?? We request it everytime we go. But the last time, in April, we were on the opposite wing from the Roaring Fork (which used to be 24 Hours, but now closes at 11)...I think we couldn't have been any farther away from the Roaring Fork, we bring back our mugs every year, and boy have they changed, the handles are more comfortable and they have a slight color change....anyway, the best event of my trips when we were at WL was when we enter the lobby for the first time each trip, and feel that cold air rush out and hit your legs, and hear the music that they play...what a wonderful experience..

We like to be on the 6th floor "woods view". (6022-6032)
When the trees were smaller you could watch the castle and fireworks. We had a room overlooking the villas this time and it was great. We always buy new mugs cause we wear ours out here at home.

My Disney Fever is getting worse!! I just found out that me and my sister both have off the same week in April (hopefully its the same week as last year when it was our longest Disney trip ever!! 8 days of Disney World!) so now I'm not just going to be disney fever woo..I'll be Disney Fever WOOOHOOOO!!!!!...haha:lol: our original plan was to go for new years, but we dont have enough time to get down and get back up without flying, and we dont fly anymore...but April is still good!!!!!!

If we get Disney fever prior to going to a Disney park, what do you call that feeling on your last day, as you head out of the resort? For me, it's a feeling of sadness - wondering if I will ever return.

I'd call it Disney Depression, I had it real bad in April. My family was supposed to go to Magic Kingdom the day before but it rained too much so we didn't go into the park that day and it was raining th enext day too so it was really sad.. :(

Me too!

I can TOTALLY relate to both!

I've got Disney Fever BAD! We're going in 3 weeks and we've been planning this trip ALL YEAR! Not to mention I've been losing weight so I can take better pictures. :) I'm now lighter than I've been in over 10 years! Yeah me! :) Add Anniversary fever and taking-first-timers fever and I'm over 110 degrees here! :)

And with Disney Depression - my husband and I tried going to the Magic Kingdom on our last day. He couldn't STAND that long ferry ride back (which I prefer over the monorail) - watching the castle fade into the distance. It bummed him out SO Much, he's forbid us from doing that park last ever again!

Depending on what day we arrive to WDW, we usually go to MK first and last...but when we go in April we go to EPCOT first becuase of the day we arrive...I do have to say that when you arrive on property and you see the first monorail in a year...WOW!! the feeling you get inside and how sick you feel..haha..my family gets so excited when we reach the property and then we get to go to the Magic Kingdom gates, and say "Checking in to the Wilderness Lodge.." and they say "OK! Turn in there and follow the signs" and then when you return to the WL after checking in the security gaurd says "Welcome Home!!" :( it makes me sad typing this, I WANT TO GO BACK!!!     but then, it just makes me look forward to WDW even more...but April sounds so close but yet it will take until the 3rd quarter of my school year, going on 4th quarter to get there, and we aren't even 100% sure we are going yet...but I think we are going to....grr rambling again!! :brick: I gotta stop that...
