If you clicked this and said what the heck is this guy talking about. Well you know that big giant red thing thats in the Japanese Pavilion at EPCOT. The one that's on the water? You probably have taken a picture through it to get spaceship earth.

Looks something like that?
Yeah!
Ok now were on the same page, I live out in Japan now but I've lived in Florida all my life. When I moved to Japan I knew that I wanted to find this place because it's super cool in the middle of the water, is one of the most famous landmarks in Japan, behind Mount Fuji, Himeji Castle, DisneySea (which Disneysea is amazing!). But I really wanted to see the place that had so much visual influence on the imagineers at Disney that they included it in the park.
And just the other day I was actually able to check it out!

Tell me what you think!

Thanks for posting this. Interesting to see the real thing and be able to compare it to the EP version. You were very fortunate to be able to tour Japan and get to see it in person. Those wandering deer were adorable.

BTDT. Thanks for the video. Brought back many fond memories. Our half day at Itsukushima was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan a couple of years ago. But our timing wasn't as good as yours. It was low tide when we arrived, so we didn't get to see the Torii gate IN the water until just as we were departing. Really a beautiful place.

Yeah man I've been out here for a year now, I love it out here! Speaking of deer, another thing that is featured at the Japanese Pavilion is that big pagoda, which is Nara, Japan. That area has a ton of deer too, but they are a bit friendlier then the ones on Miyajima island.
Here's some highlights from that too!

Thanks for posting this, @yukendoit! I'm glad to see you here! Everybody else, if you want to see some stellar videos about an American's travels in Japan, please check his videos out at his Youtube channel called "yukendoit." I check it out everyday to see what's up in Japan. Are you near Mitsukoshi? It's my favorite store in Epcot!. I'd like to see a comparison to the real thing!

Thanks for sharing! I just got back from Norway recently and was able to visit sites that inspired the Pavilion (and also got to visit the museum where they filmed the boy touching the viking ship form the old film) Ill post some pics here soon!
