Disney during holidays

So I'm the guy that posted a while back about going on a trip to Disney in June but not taking the kids. We are still doing that but as soon as booking is available for 2016 we are planning our Disney trip with the kids. We have decided to go either during spring break or mardi gras so the kids will be out of school. I know this is wierd to a lot of the country but yes schools are closed a week for mardi gras where I'm from. I'm sure Disney is crowded during spring break but I'm not really sure about mardi gras or if it's even something Disney recognizes. With all this said, we are gunning for mardi gras week but does anybody know how the crowds are for that or if it's even a thing at wdw. FWIW that will be around mid Feb.

Mardi gras week during Feb is typically fairly crowded - at least that has the been the case the past few years. Spring break can be even worse, and can be really bad depending on proximity to Easter. If your kids are young enough that taking them out of school won't hurt them academically - I'd say do it (at least that's what we did , though we had to stop when the oldest hit high school).

If not, just my opinion, but it may be best to try for last week of May / first of June (or the first week they are out of school). That's what we have done recently and it hasn't been too bad.

Mardi Gras is better than Spring break, this year it was the week of Presidents' Day, so I assume it was worse than usual.

Yes Mardi Gras is better than spring break but expect pretty large crowds. Just not as bad as spring break. I'm from south Louisiana and a lot of friends and family go every year for Mardi Gras and though it is crowded and busy they love this time of year.
