Hello !! I am currently booked for a Bahamas cruise to leave Friday Sept 11- I have a few questions,
1. I am looking into an adult Dinner and Was going to put my 2 1/2 year old daughter in the " Small World" day care for 2 hours. It says you can book based on
  • 120 days in advance for Concierge and Platinum Castaway Club Guests
  • 105 days in advance for Gold Castaway Club Guests
  • 90 days in advance for Silver Castaway Club Guests
  • 75 days in advance for all other Guests
I have never been on a cruise before. I am unsure which category I would be considered? I am booked in a Veranda Room, hope fully that helps.

2. Which restaurant would be great for a romantic one for my DH and myself?

3. I am a little confused after watching the video of the cruise line. I booked for main dining so Dinner at 5, then there is a show at 8? Its a different show every night? Do you have to go to the show?

4. Is the only thing set in stone is Dinner? Do you get to do every thing else at your leisure?

5. I don't know if this is Stupid or not to ask, For Bahamas do they take American Cash?

6. Does any one have any Input on what do do at Castaway Key with a 2 year old? I think for Nassau I will just do shopping then head back into the boat, but would like to explore Castaway Key !

Thanks every one!!

Others will have better and more complete answers. We will add what we can initially. 1. If this is your first DCL cruise, you are a new cruise guest so you would probably be at 75 days. 2. Depending on ship, Palo and/or Remy. Check them out. 3. Different show every night and no, you are not required to attend. Attendance is optional. We really enjoyed the shows and we had/prefer second seating so shows were before dinner and we found them entertaining. We considered it part of what we paid for so we tended to go every night. 4. Meal times are fixed. Movies are scheduled. Other events are scheduled so look at the examples of the daily schedule that each room gets via a daily newsletter called a "navigator". People can choose to attend or not as they prefer. We relaxed without scheduling every minute. There are plenty of opportunities to partake of offerings and also plenty of opportunities to kick back, relax, sunbathe, swim, lounge, shuffleboard, tour the ship on you own, etc. 5 and 6, no idea.

1:75 days
2: Palo
3: different shows, check your navigator.
4. Pretty much unless you book other things, like mixology or excursions.
5. Not sure we stayed on the boat that day
6. Might consider another 2 hour day care drop so you can enjoy serenity bay for a bit then pick the kiddo up for a few more hours of beach time.

1. First time cruiser, so you are at 75 days out for booking
2. If you want the full dining experience, book Remy or Palo (depending on which menu you want.. italian or french) for a special upscale dining experience for your special evening.
2. For dinner there are two seatings, early and late. The main show for the evening plays twice, once early (for late diners) and once late (for early diners) so no one has to miss the main show. Other special events will be setup after dinner times typically so no one gets blocked out.

4. EVERYTHING is optional on the boat except the safety drill :) So you don't have to do the shows at all if you don't want. Each day you will get a 'navigator' that has all the schedule for the day, you can pick and chose what entertainment you want to do. Your table assignment at dinner and time are really the only locked in things.. and you don't even have to eat there if you don't want :)

5. Many places will, but the exchange rate may not be in your favor. Be savvy of the exchange rate when you go. Most tourist things will probably quote USD anyways. Buying in the street vs in a formal place may differ as well. I'd just pay cash or with a Credit card - I don't know of anyone who bothers with exchanging money. If you do an excursion, you probably won't even have any need anyways.

6. CC will be one of the places you will enjoy as a family as the beach. You can also check them into the nursery for a bit if you want. Maybe plan ahead and pack some sand toys.

5) US currency IS accepted in Nassau and the Bahamian dollar is the equivalent of the US dollar.
6) Castaway Cay is, for families, a giant day at the beach. Take the toddler, slather them with sunscreen and enjoy the day. There's sandtoys available to purchase on the island. It's gorgeous there...DON'T miss it for anything.

General cruise tips: Relax, nothing is mandatory except the boat safety drill which is a lot better than it used to be. Don't be THAT family and show up to dinner in flip-flops and shorts. Check out the Daily Navigator (it's delivered to your Stateroom every day. It has all ship activities listed by age group.

Spend some time exploring the official Disney Cruise line website. Most info and FAQ's are answered there. We are on cruise 8 coming up in July to the Northern Med. It's pretty addicting.
