Disney Down to a Science

I just discovered the board today. I was trying to seek out information about the FP+ and these wristbands. I've been to WDW 4 times now with the wife, and we feel like we have the place down to a science, as far as using the FP, park hopping, and getting the most out of the rides and the least out of lines. We take pride it it, though it's something anyone can do.

It's been interesting to see others here who have the same mindset. Before our last trip in February, I decided I would keep a tally of how much time we saved by using FP. The wife rolled her eyes at first, but was quickly amazed by how fast the hours mounted up. I would simply note the standby time upon entering the FP line and then record the time we actually spent in the FP line. In 5 days, we saved over 8 hours.

It's just hard to believe sometimes how easy it really is, and how few people even bother to try. I guess if everyone did it, then it wouldn't matter. But, having the "mastered" the current system, I am a bit worried that I'll have to go back to the drawing board with this new system.

So, how many other FP heroes are there out there, and how are you feeling about this new system?

There are several threads on these forums about this already where you can read people's opinions, and add your own to it. Most people seem to be skeptical of it, myself included. There's too many unknowns, and too many things that will throw off my game plans with this for me to say I like it right now.

First a most magical welcome to the wdwmagic family. I'm actually looking forward to the new adventure. Every time they change things around I get nervous, but it all seems to work out eventually. Pixie dust cures all!

I'm on the fence about this. I like how it is set up now. For us, its almost impossible for us to know 90 days in advance on when we are taking a WDW vacation. We are able to use FP's to the fullest extent possible and we are always at the parks at rope drop to take advantage of the early morning hours. Right now I am not in panic mode, but if it really changes how we do WDW or how many attractions we can see and enjoy in a day...well, that might change how we spend our vacation $$$.

In the Parks
No
Not into the wristbands, into getting Fastpasses ahead of time for certain attractions (coughTOYSTORYMANIAcough) that are difficult to get once inside the park.

Also, at 11, carrying a purse and wallet, I could not be trusted with a room key. My parents wouldn't let me carry it until I was about 14, and there were times where I had to get a replacement room key (now at 18 I think I can be trusted). With the magic bands and how I'm prone to playing with stuff on my wrists, there's no way my parents would have let me use it. We'd be too worried about it. Sticking to the cards which can go in my wallet when not in use.

Also, welcome to the forums!

I like BobPass. Where are you Bob Saget???

Anyway, it works thusly...

Here's what happens when you choose to use BobPass instead of FP+:
-After entering through the park gates, you are issued...absolutely nothing! YOU get to decide which ride to hit first, which land to explore first, and so on. NO planning required! NO scheduled appointments! NO wrist-bands to be worn! If you want to hit Splash Mtn first...simply walk over to Splash Mtn. If the wait time is not to your desires, no sweat. Simply move on to another ride/attraction and come back at a better time. This experience will bring guests back to simpler times when exploring the beauty & adventure of a park was what it's all about...not NextGen gagdgets planning your every move. Wanna hit Jungle Cruise when it's busy? No problem! Wanna hit HM when it's slow? No problem! No more checking the time constantly to make sure you are at (insert ride/attraction name here) by your scheduled appointment.

With BobPass, you explore the parks as you did as a child...carefree, seeing what you see, doing what you do, exploring what you explore...at YOUR pace with NO appointments involved! BobPass is so simple, there isn't even a pass required!

We need time for things to happen.
As others have mentioned, there are a ton of threads on this subject do a search and you'll find plenty of opinions and info.

With that being said - I don't mind the idea of the wrist bands, however FP+ as it stands now with this ONLY 3 FP per day and all only in one park thing...Yeah that suxx majorly.

I'm sure I'll get used to it but I like the current system and I don't want to wear a wristband. I'll probably keep it in my purse instead.
