disney dollars

we're looking to buy some disney dollars for an employee before her first trip. she actually leaves just before we get there. so, we have to figure out a way to buy them from home. or do the disney stores sell them?

any help is appreciated!

Not sure if you can buy them away from WDW - to see if you can then you're best bet is to call WDW and ask.

If you can't, then why not try a Disney gift card. I know you can order those online.

thanks for the input, we just thought the disney dollars would be a nice touch seeing as she's a big disney fan and it's her first trip.

and we'll have to check the closest disney store. i believe there's still one in the Hershey outlets...... only an 80 minute drive....lol.

The Disney Store in my mall hasn't had them in a lonnnng time. So I always pick up a few at the outlet whenever I go. Well, I went there the other day and they said they are completely gone at all of the stores...only sell gift cards now. When I asked if they still sell them at the parks they didn't know but I can't see them not having them. It is a great souvenir. As soon as I get to the MK, the first place I go to is City Hall for some.

Yeah, my local Disney Store does not carry them any more. What a shame. Love those. We bought them for everyone we knew going to Disney World. Just seemed so much more magical than a gift card. They said something about concerns about theft. I think there was a thread on this earlier when the Disney Dollars first disappeared from the Disney Stores. Maybe someone with better search skills than myself can find it?

I took a look around at that site. I never new that I had a first edition Disney dollar! I was really young at the time, so never thought twice about whether or not it was something new.

I was pretty upet when they phased them out of the stores. My kids loved getting them with their allowance each week as a trip approached. But now we do the gift cards ad they work just as well!

Yeah, I know gift cards kinda the same thing. But for me there is something so much more Magical about having dollars in hand. That and to me gift cards are just so..... Gift cardy.

So it turns out you can order them from Disney Ticketing at 407 566 4985. It is cost of dollars plus $14 shipping via FedEx. Max is $50 per credit card as they say the credit company consider it a cash transaction. So it's $14 per $50. Ug. well, I bought in anyway.

I have some Disney dollars that I bought at my local Disney store before they stopped selling them. I never ended up using them, so now i guess they are collectibles.
