I did a search and could not find anything, if it is there sorry for the additional thread.

We have been to Disney numerous times but never booked the dining pacakge before. We just went with the magic your way plus dining for our honeymoon next month. Is there a special menu at the restaurants (at epcot specifically) that are included or can you order anything? We love eating at world showcase :slurp: and you know how expensive that can get! A few meals there with desert and appetizers will get our moneys worth in a hurry.

On a side question - how much gratuity do they give the servers? I will feel very akward not leaving a tip for the servers.:lookaroun Does anyone still leave a tip or just get up and leave?

Thanks for the help.

I'll be glad to help!

There is no special menu for the Disney Dinning Plan. From the regular menu, you choice any appetizer, any entree, any desert, and any non-alcoholic beverage. The full meal, tax and gratuity is included. Only menu items specifically listed as "side items" (such as add a lobster tail) are excluded. Also menu items listed as for two (such as appetizer for two) must be shared between two dinners on the plan.

The included gratuity is based on 18% of your total food bill, so feel free to order the most expensive items, your wait staff will love you for it! Also remember, no matter how full you are, order that chocolate cake for dessert. Your server will be happy to box it up, and it will make a great midnight snack!

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Thank you for the reply - I really can't believe we never booked the dining plan before. Oh well, we all live and learn right?

Thanks again.

We used the dining plan when we went last summer and loved it. We are actually going to use it again this year! We did have some similar questions, and felt hesitant about the tipping-- however, it was pretty easy to get over!! If i remember correctly you can see the tip included on your final recipt, and it made us feel much more comfortable. The only time you would want to leave extra money for a tip is if you order an alcoholic beverage or a shake at dinner (they are not included on the dining plan.)

Enjoy your trip and have fun with the dining experience! For us, it was part of the fun!

Happy :o

Sweetums, we're going next week too and using the Dining Plan. Man, nothing is going to fit by the time we get home!

I plan to leave a few extra dollars if the service warrants it. I usually tip 20%. No, I don't do this because I can afford it. I do it because I understand how hard the waitstaff can work to make everything wonderful and they deserve it!

Leaving tomorrow..just had a quick question? I know you get an appetizer and dessert with the dining plan at a sit down restaurant. But, do you get an appetizer and dessert with a counter service meal?

Thanks

Monty

Brilliant...and Canadian
In the Parks
No
No appetizer with Counter Service. They generally don't have appetizers available [I can't think of any CS that offer appetizers, but am not familiar with every venue].

Have a great time!

... or when your inlaws embarrass the stew out of by acting like a vicious crime was committed when the waiter automatically included the 18% in their non-dining plan bill.... and BTW, the service we had had was EXCELLENT! .... not sure WHAT they ended up tipping, but me & hubby left extra to make up for it ....

Wow...sounds like something MY in-laws would do! We alway have wonderful service at WDW (with only one exception in 5 trips) so we leave extra, even if it is only a couple of dollars more.

We are also trying out the dining plan this Nov. for the first time. I was going over some of the menu's with my son yesterday (because he will be on the adult plan, yet llikes to eat from the kids menu still). I wanted to see what he thinks he'd like to eat. Mama Melrose is a place we've never tried, but are thinking of doing it this time. There's one dish that comes with chicken, but you can add shrimp for $2.50 more. Is this part of the dining plan, or do we pay the extra $2.50?
