Disney Deluxe Dining Plan 2010

I have just returned from my fifth stay at the Walt Disney World Resort and I am immediately immersing myself in the early planning stages of my next adventure at the Walt Disney World Complex.

On the exception of 2002, 2003 and 2007, I have made the trip annually since 2001 and each trip has been spent with my aunt, grandmother, and two younger cousins. While I plan on going with them again next year, I am also planning another trip in 2009 with my other aunt who has only been to the Magic Kingdom twice (once with my mother and grandparents in the late 70s and once by herself while she was on business in Orlando sometime in the mid 90s).

For starters, my aunt is the biggest kid in the entire world; she truly is the girl who refuses to grow up. I want this trip to be something truly special and that is why I believe I am going to take advantage of the Deluxe Dining Plan Disney has offered. On a previous trip, my family took advantage of the basic Dining Plan, which was wonderful. I am sure the Deluxe Dining Plan is awesome too, but it would still be nice to hear feedback from those who have used it. Also, if you have any restaurant suggestions please feel free to put in your two cents.

Thank You, The Adventurer :)

Hello fellow Tennessean! We are booked for the Deluxe Plan in September this year and I can't wait to see how well it works. We are total foodies and don't mind missing some park time for the fabulous dining experiences to be had at WDW.

I wish I could give you more info now but I'd be happy to fill you in on our experience this fall.

I'm sure someone out there can tell us both if the deluxe plan is well worth it.

We just used the Deluxe Dining Plan in May with 3 adults and on child for 7 nights. Most I would highly reccomend it if you are staying 6 or more nights. I would not reccomend it at all if you are staying 4 or less nights. If you are staying 5 nights I would only suggest it during a really slow time of the year when lines are really short, or at peak season when the parks are open really late if you don't have small children with you and can take advantage of the extra hours. Please don't try to eat 3 sit-down meals a day. That will be way too much food.

We used quite a few 2 credit meals and flew in before lunch on our first day and flew out after lunch on our last day. For 2 credit meals we did Artist Point, Jiko, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Mickey's Backyard BBQ and the Mother's Day brunch. We did brekfast at Crystal Palace and Tusker House before the park opened, We also ate Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, Marrakesh, and Tony's. We had lunch at Teppan Edo, Coral Reef and Sci-Fi. We used the rest of the credits for counter service lunches on our first day, last day, and the 3 days we had breakfasts.

That count may not come out exactly right, but we sometimes shared Counter service and such. With the snacks included and the resort refillable mug, we definately came out ahead, and we didn't feel like we were gonna :hurl: from eating too much. The sit-down meals were a nice break from walking and a chance to sit in air-conditioning. If you have any more specific questions I would be happy to answer those too.
