Hi All! New member here.
Can anyone give info on the Disney Cruisline? I'll be sailing on "Magic" in October. Looking for advice and maybe some inside scoop.
Thanks!

I'm hoping someone will anwser you soon because I'm extremely interested in taking a cruise but some of the information from Disney is "biased" if you know what I mean. I wanted the real story.
For example: Is all the food/drinks included?
About how much are the shore excursions?
What happenes if it rains?
What's a typical day like?

Etc.
I tried searching, but some of the information is vague, and there is LOTS of info to tumble through!

A few unofficial websites were extremely helpful when we planned our cruise. www.castawayclub.com and www.wdwinfo.com are two that have alot of information on the cruises.

We have been on 2 3-day cruises and 1 4-day cruise on the Wonder. All food is included unless you go to Palo and there is a service charge for going there as it is 18 years old or over and you have to make ressies. Soda is now free except if you get it in one of the restaurants or bars. That is a nice plus. On deck nine they have a 24 hour beverage bar that is nice.

It has rained a few times on our cruise. If there is an outdoor party scheduled, they usually move in somewhere indoors like the Atrium area. Otherwise, the pools are the only things you may not be able to enjoy while it is raining.

The websites I have listed will give you lots of info on shore excursions...They can range in price from 50 to over 100.

If you go to the Castawayclub.com website and click on Daily Navigators, this shows daily itineraries and activities on the ship as well as shore excursions.

We have loved every minute of the cruises. The more we go, the less we actually do and it has become so relaxing for us. The Vista Spa is awesome.
Castaway Cay is unbelievable.

Hope this information is a good starting point for you.

It's your Birthday, It's your Birthday, Party Hardy!!!!!!

That's a coincidence because we go to Disney every other year for my Wife's birthday Aug 7th. Next year is our year and we are doing the Walt Disney Suite on the Wonder.

The smileys come out in text form while you are writing, but then as soon as you post, it will change to the animated/color ones.

After looking through the websites, I have a few questions still. Could someone explain to me what is formal night? How dressed up do you have to be?

What is appropriate attire to wear to the night shows (the Walt Disney theatre and the other one)

How dressed up do you really have to be for dinner? I know that no jeans or shorts are allowed, but are say kahki capri's and a nice shirt (or something to that effect) okay? I'm not much of a dress/skirt wearer.

This is all so confusing! Thanks in advance for any help!

-The formal night is the Captain's Dinner and you don't have to get to dressed up.

The Theaters don't have a dress code.

Kahki capri's and a nice shirt should be fine for Animator's and Parrot Cay, Triton's and Lumiere's you may be able to get away with it, but you may what to pack something a little nicer.
I hope that helps.
