hi!

I know this doesnt really have to do with WDW alot but i need some info on the Disney Cruise. We are planning on going next year. so here are my questions:

Which would you suggest the Eastern or Western Carrbiean Cruise?

How big are the rooms that an average joe can afford like not too grand but a little above average (juss a tad)?

Room Service 24/7? explain please? and what kinda food are we talkin? as u can tell i love food (ud think id be fat..lol)

I hate coffee, is there anything for me in the teen coffee house? What other things can teens enjoy?

Do you hafta dine with other people in the resturaunts or can u sit in the restutraunts with ur family? Are u designated a time to eat?

i cant think of anymore questions at the moment, so ill post more if i think of anymore. Please any details about the cruise would be helpful and wesites, besides disney, would be gratefully appericated!

thankies again!

There is another thread with the exact same name...but I´ll forgive you this time because the other one doesn´t ask for much information... we are all assumming things there! ;)

I can answer some of these... the rooms in the Magic are big enough... at least ours was big. We had a queen size water bed, a couch that turned into a bed and another one that came out of the ceiling! So... four people could comfortably sleep there. There was also a little living room where the couch was. I wish I had my scanner to show you... :( We had a balcony too, but not all the rooms had. I don´t know all the rooms were like ours though...

I can´t remember the room service menu, but there was a "dessert buffet" at midnight that I would suggest you to visit! :slurp: We didn´t use room service, we were so full after every meal!

You have to dine with other people... yes, you have, but not away from your family! You family is a whole group if you are in the same party. You will be seated with others who will become your meal partners for the whole trip. It was a lot of fun for us. We also met others in other tables, and in other rooms (all the people in the balconies around ours! lol ) ;)

ok, here goes

Don't know what is better, eastern or western, because i only took one of them

the average room has a queen sized bed, a sofa bed, and a pull down bunk bed for over the sofa bed (i think that's in most of the rooms), there are two bathrooms, one with a shower and sink and the other with a toilet with a sink (those are kinda small)

Don't know about the room service, i ate a lot at meals so i was pretty full.

Coffee...oh, common grounds, no it's not a coffee shop, 13to17 year olds can hang out in here, there's a big screen tv, some computers, games, and a bar (only non-alcoholic drinks), and it's pretty fun in there... pretty much every night there is a party at Studio Sea and that can rock until one or two in the morning, there are also land trips for teens only...i'd say that the disney cruise is one of the most teen friendly cruises.

Families are not split up at dinner, but if you're a small group, odds are you'll be eathing with other people, but it's really fun anyways, and u don't have to go to dinner every night, there is room service and places for hot dogs and pizza on deck nine.
there are two times for dinner and you can only go to one of them, but you can request a time (i think they're five and eight).

well, i hope you enjoy a cruise on the Magic or the Wonder, they're sister ships so it's basically the same, only with different ports (four day cruises vs seven days, i recomend the seven)

Just got back from the cruise. Had a wonderful time. The only differences between the eastern and the western are the ports. Everything else is exactly the same.

Room service menu is very nice. Tipping for that is not included but if you did want to eat in your room, the menu has enough to choose from to make everyone happy.

When making your reservation, you need to request early or late seating dining. 6:00 is early, 8:30 is late. If you do not get what you want, you can request the change when you get on board.

There is a coffee station open 24 hours a day on deck 9 that has coffee, tea and milk. Bar hours are listed on your Personal Navigator (the paper you will get every day.)

I would reccommend trying to research the shore excursions you might be interested in on the DCL web pape. And if they tell you something is sold out, do not get upset. I was told almost everything was sold out and when I got on board, everything was wide open and available.

And lastly about dining, Make a resevation for Palo, the adult semi-formal restaurant at least one night. It was wonderful. They will charge you 5 dollars per person but is well worth it. I knew the 'Great Chefs' menu on the second night in the dining rooms was not very good and made my reservation for that night. I am glad I did.

Hope this helps.

Oh, just a little bit more info, we were docked next to Princess Cruises in both ports and our captain said both ships had around 2700 people on them but the difference was they had only 30 guests below the age of 18 and we had 800 passengers under the age of 12.

Lots of kids but Disney keeps them busy with tons of events and programs. (not to mention a million hotdogs and french fries!)
