Anyone know why they cutout the old cartoon channel? We used to wake up and fall asleep to our childhood favorites and now they have some Henai looking junk instead..CMs had no answers and said I was like the thousandth person to complain about it in a week...

Sad to hear. If you mean that the Henai stuff are the new Mickey cartoon shorts, then, yeah, an acquired taste. I'm sure they are doing it to promote them. The problem I had with the classic shorts that they show on ME, in-house at WDW and on DCL is that they are often the "Have a Laugh" edited ones anyway. Reduced in length to just 'punch lines'. I love watching unedited classic shorts in-stateroom on a cruise.

Aww man, you can correct me if I'm wrong but from what I remember DCL didn't have a laugh track and played the entire mickey mouse and donald duck vault cartoons for years; then in 2014 they were just like enough of that. However, I'm imagining how awkward the ghost buster on would be with a laugh track right now...

I thought I read somewhere that the older ships do not have as many free channels as the Dream. Does anyone know if this is true??

I haven't been on the smaller ships, but I'm pretty sure they are the same. They said they removed the channel from the entire fleet when I went to complain so I'd assume the they all use the same satellite feed. You aren't getting any local channels. It's mostly just Disney Co. channel holding being display liked the Disney Channel, ABC Family, cartoons, Disney advertising, etc...). Availability of channels change between location due to regulations (some channels will not be available in port or in US waters). However, on-demand is always available and on all ships, which besides the cartoon channel, is the main draw to that stupid tv after pay thousands for a cruise.

We didn't have any on-demand on the Magic post-refurb. All we had was the channels that played the same Disney movies on non-stop loops. Has that changed?

There was no on-demand on the Wonder either in May. I think only the Dream class has on- demand, the older ships have the movies on a loop.

Having been on both the Fantasy and Dream I can say they have the same system. However, knowing the other do not kind of stinks because we've been wanting to go on the Magic but we do use that on-demand an awful lot.
