probally a dumb question but here i go:

Are the pools on the Disney Wonder Salt water or fresh-water?
I'd imagine fresh knowing Disney, but just want to make sure for our July Cruise.

Thanks

are definitely fresh water (typical swimming pools). They are also the perfect temperature and wonderful to enjoy!

are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure they are salt, just like pools on all other cruises

I assure you they are fresh water!!!! I have been on DCL 3 times! I have swam in the pools, they are not salt water, they are just like the clorinated water in a regular swimming pool. It may be cheaper for a cruise ship to use salt water, but if you've ever been on the Magic or Wonder, you can that nothing is done cheaply.

I can back that up. The pools are just clorinated water. And yes the Disney ships are not done on the cheap. Hope you have fun.
I am so jealous, I may not be able to go on one until September. Oh well, have fun:wave:

Tis why Disney Cruise Line is the best. Im pretty sure that it is one the very few cruise lines that uses fresh water. Carnival uses salt water and it is just horrible when swimmimg in it, it feels as if you are swimming in the ocean outside the windows; cause it just might be. Thank you Disney for un salty water.:sohappy:

Fresh water, definitely! I was in all of the publicly accessible pools on the Wonder, and they are great! How cheap would you have to be to put salt water in a pool on a cruise ship? :animwink:

Uh oh..... if Disney execs reads this thread, they could get the idea that they could shave a few bucks off operating costs by using salt water. *deletes thread from existance*

Wouldn´t it be more expensive to have a salt water pool than a fresh water pool?

I am thinking it must be more expensive to get 'clean' water (no sand or stuff) from salt water to have it in a pool ad maintain it in good conditions, than keeping fresh water clean...

At least where I live, having a salt water pool is considered nicer than a fresh water one because of the equipment you would need to bring it from the ocean to your beach house and then to keep it always clean.

Most cruise ships use Salt Water. My understanding is that they drain them at night while you are cruising and fill them in the morning directly from the ocean (and through a filter). I went on Carnival once and it was salt water and freezing. Went on DCL twice and the pools are clean, fresh water that have a great temp to them.

The pools are fresh water. However.. like many other places with pools.. people tend to get in them when they are sweaty. Therefore.. the salt in their sweat is what makes them seem salty.. Nasty, right?

BTW.. when are you going on the cruise? Because my father, brother and I are also going on the cruise in july?
