disney character premiere

i was just at the sawgrass mills mall in sunrise(ft lauderdale)fl today which is one of the countrys biggest outlet malls.
there they had a "disney character premiere" store which is an outlet store for wdw merchandise.

i never realized disney had these. keep in mind they have nothing to do with the disney store they are actually run and managed by walt disney world merchandise even though the store is 300 miles away and the cast members are wdw cast members.
they have 2 in orlando and one here and then another new one in miami they are building.
they have all wdw resort merchandise for half off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they take and sell all of the overstock from wdw.the store is not as nice as a regular disney merchandise store or disney store due to its nature.

has some minor issues like a couple of bulbs out in lights,merchandise racks that are a little scuffed,glass display cases kinda scracthed but over all not bad-actually as nice as the rest of the outlet stores but . not as nice or disney like as park stores or disney store.

cool thing is i met the regional mgr who was there and got the inside scoop for a job-8 years retail mgt years plus BA in management i think its time to be like oh id say hmmm v.p. disney consumer products????????:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

The one at Sawgrass Mills? It's been there for like 2 years.. I go there every time I go to S. Fl, as well as Ron Jons.

Funny you should mention this...I am actually in South Florida right now, went to sawgrass today. I love that Disney Merch store....they have everything from ToT towels to Monorail kits.

When I lived down here I used to go there every week to see whats new..definatly a great place to check out if you are ever n the area. Sawgrass is a huge mall (south floridas #1 largest attraction If i recall correctly)...and that Disney store is huge.

we probably walked right passed each other today-i was there from-4 pm to 7 pm-
kinda neat because when i grew up in sunrise that whole section was nothing but swamp now look at it!

was it me or did the oasis area look like downtown disney westside?????

Ok I am interested. Tell me more. Where are the ones in Orlando located? Is it worth going out of the parks for it?

i think so. prices are really good-in most cases 50% from regular
retail in park.
keep in mind this is older stuff-its 100% quality but not the "newest" .i bought a nice goofy golf polo-for 19.99 and would have been 45 to 50 bucks in park.
as far as the location not really 100% sure.chances r its in the bealz outlet mall in orlando which is a big outlet mall there.

if your looking for "disney"atmosphere its nice store but again expect to see some things u might not at regular wdw merchandise location like dings and scratches in walls etc.

I still lived there when the oasis was built...first thing i though of was downtown disney. Its truely visually impressive....

The best thing about that disney store is you buy the discounted products...and can turn around and sell em on ebay for almost TRIPLE what you paid....mostly due to rhe fact that these items are normally only available in the parks. Collectors eat that crap up.

There are actually two outlets in Orlando. One is at Beltz at the north end of I-Drive - I think that it is in Mall 1 (the E-shaped one) - and the other is at Orlando Premier Outlets, which is just over I-4 from Crossroads.
I have to agree that they are both great places for bargains and for items that you may have missed first time round!

The Beltz actually has two. One is called Character Premier and the other is called Character Warehouse. They both have some of the same stuff but often you will find one has things that the other doesn't. I can never remember which is which but they are in the two buildings right next to each other that are both shaped like an 'x'.
