Disney Character Meet and Greets

Just returned from WDW and I have got to tell you. In the 12 years that we have been going to WDW I have never seen so many characters in the parks. They were everywhere. You could not take five steps without runnuing into a dwarf or chipmunk. It was neat seeing all the kids lined up again.

The best part was that all of the parents and kids were standing in line for autographs and the rides were practically empty. Fast pass times for almost every ride were no more than an hour out.

Keep it up Disney!

I wouldn't say it returns to normal. This is way beyond normal. I have been going at least once a year since 1990 and have never seen anything like this before. I mean the characters were literally everywhere. Back in 1990 the they would wonder around the park taking pictures and signing autographs. you might see 7 or 8 characters in a day. One day at MK we say over 19 different characters signing autographs and taking pictures. I've never seen anything like it even in the old days.

was this during the day? Or during the halloween party? Just curious, since 5 of the ones you listed only do special events at MK

It was during the day on Sunday the 20th. Granted, it was a MNSSHP day but it was well before 6:00pm.

Also, Mike and Sully were at DS on Tuesday the 22.

There were actually quite a few more that I didn't get close enough to tell who they were. Too many kids and not enough time.

I don't no it seems like people are upset to see so many
characters in the Magic Kingdom this is a good thing to me.
Any thing Disney can do to inprove things is great?.:)

I think so too....:)

It's a very happy moment to just run into a character as opposed to waiting in line for the opportunity - very "magical"!

I suppose...
I think I have to get used to it again... Because, Chris is right. The characters were all over the place. I hadn't seen Donald Duck anywhere other than a parade or show in, like, years and I saw him three times in about an hour or so one trip... It was crazy!
I just have to get used to it. But, I like the fact that they're around for the kids, and I love the fact they're there to greet the kids when they get off the momorail or boat right before you get on Main Street.
