Hi. I'm fairly new to this board and enjoy thinking up Disney attractions and parks. I've been working on a few projects and I'm looking for some input on what people's thoughts on the projets are. The first one I've decided to post is a redo for EPCOT's Millennium Village into a Disney character themed pavillion. Here's the plans:

Character Carnival Project (New WS Pavilion)
Character Carnival is a family-oriennted pavilion between Canada and United Kingdom (roughly where World Showplace is at WDW). It's made of four main areas, each with activities and exhibit.

Africa: Highlights the jungles of Africa with help from friends from "The Lion King" and Tarzan. Children can explore different regions of wild Africa in a play area themed to Timon and Pumbaa and learn more about the wildlife by looking through Jane's electronic schechbook. Jane is on hand often as well to tell stories of Africa and greet guests.

America: The different cultures of both North and South America are represented in this area. Pocahontas' Grandmother Willow is on hand to tell legends and fables of native American culture. Children will also enjoy some of the games and activities in which they can take part in a Carnival celebration from South America or help Brer Rabbit escape from Brer Fox and Brer Bear.

Asia: The main attraction here is a family-oriennted simulator ride on Aladdin's flying carpet with the Genie. This attraction takes guests on a journey to many exotic locations throughout Asia. Also here is an interactive Great Wall of China where guests learn about history with Mulan's Mushu the Dragon, and Aladdin's storytelling in which he shares stories of the Arabian Nights with guests.

Europe: The last main are is Europe. Here, take an interactive jouny to the days of knights and castles as well as browse through Belle's storybook to see what an impact European literature has had on Disney. Mary Poppins hosts storytime here as well, telling fairytales and legends from Europe.

Also here, is a restaurant, character shop, Kidcot fun stop, and a variety of characters such as Pooh, Pinocchio,Rafiki, Terk, Baloo, and others performing a short show and then greeting guests throughout the day.

I like the concept, but it just doesn't seem to fit with EPCOT. Any ideas or should the project be scrapped?

Your ideas are well thought out.

But I don't see this area fitting in World Showcase.

WS is really dedicated to individual countries and not continents. Plus you already have 3 countries from North America. You have several from Europe and 2 from Asia. I think it would work best if something new was a individual focus, not on multiple cultures.

Plus basing everything in this pavillion on characters would be out of place. I know you want to explain heritage and life of these areas, but none of the other countries really use characters.

First, I see what you mean turkey leg boy. It does seem too out of place for World Showcase. I like the characters as storytellers ideas, though. Maybe I'll just move them and put Aladdin in Moracco, Jane in the Outpost and Mary Poppins in the UK. As for a whole park on Folk Tales, I've already done it. I'll start posting it soon.
