"Disney Channel Rocks!" is a new show that will replace "HSM 3: Right Here! Right Now!". Here's the full info from the Disney Parks Blog:

A live, rock-concert style show will blast popular music from a variety of Disney Channel hits, including the “High School Musical” series, “Camp Rock” and “StarStruck.” The show, which has yet to be officially named, will follow a format that is similar to “High School Musical 3: Senior Year – Right Here! Right Now!”

The new show is scheduled to debut at Disney California Adventure park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on October 22.

In order to make way for this exciting addition, the Wildcats from High School Musical will cheer in their last performance of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year – Right Here! Right Now!” at Disney California Adventure park on October 17 and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on October 2. Don’t miss your last chance to sing, dance and cheer with the Wildcats before school’s back in session, but rest assured the Wildcats will be back in a new way on October 22.

The entire park is getting a makeover, why can the entertainment offerings do the same? I thought we were heading in the right direction with WoC...

In addition to the Disney Channel Rocks show, a new dance show will also debut: Disney Dance Crew. This is what the Disney Auditions page says:

Disney Dance Crew [is] a hip, contemporary dance show in the mold of “America’s Best Dance Crew” and “So You Think You Can Dance".

Although Disney Channel Rocks will premiere at both DHS and DCA, it appears the Disney Dance Crew is for DCA only.

The Disney Dance Crew had a surprise performance at the Destination D event this past weekend. Talking Mickey and several dancers offered a preview of what the new show will be like. I'm not sure if Talking Mickey will be used for performances at the park, or if he was just used for the special D23 event.

Evoking the spirit of hit television programs, Disney Dance Crew is a 10-minute live show designed to celebrate high-energy contemporary hip hop dancing and entertain Guests in the afternoon in the Hollywood Backlot Stage in Disney California Adventure Park. Two diverse dance crews square off in an action-packed showdown until Mickey Mouse arrives, with some hip new moves of his own, to bring the two crews together.

And here's the description for the Disney Channel Rocks! show. According to CM reports who attended the showcase, the concept art shows that they will use the WoC fountains for this show:
Disney Channel Rocks! is a brand-new 15-minute "rock concert"-style stage show that features hit songs from popular Disney Channel Original Movies and artists. Disney Channel Rocks! totally "pumps up the volume" four times a day at Palisades Stage in Paradise Park. This hip, diverse cast of "rock stars" takes the stage to celebrate the cool, contemporary vibe of Disney Channel.

So its HSM meets So You Think You Can Dance with a bit of Splashtacular thrown in. Well, this should be interesting...

The new Disney Dance Crew show debuted today at DCA

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/10/video-disney-dance-crew/

Beginning today, October 22, the Disney Dance Crew will start shaking things up at the Hollywood Backlot Stage in Disney California Adventure park.

Disney Dance Crew is a live, 10-minute performance for the entire family that features contemporary remixes and mash-ups of popular Disney songs, and dancers performing hip, edgy dance moves. The show also includes an appearance from Mickey Mouse like you’ve never seen him before. Mickey shows off slick new threads and some crazy moves.

In other news, the Disney Channel Rocks! show has been delayed and will now open November 26.

Videos are now popping up and I can't even watch. It's SO bad. I can't believe someone created this mess. The park is in the process of turning around, and this show does not help at all.

It opened at DHS and while I don't really care for the songs in the show, the dancers are pretty good. WDW must be taking it's cue from DL entertainment, because the dancing in many of the WDW shows has been improving.

After a month-long delay, Disney Channel Rocks! will premiere at DCA this Friday. The show will be presented at the Palisades Stage in Paradise Park. MouseInfo.com caught early rehearsal footage of the show, and it appears the WoC fountains will be incorporated into the show!
