You can do just about anything for the WDW corperation. Take classes in what interests you. Otherwise the Hospitality, Retail, or attractions industries are a good bet. You can work in so many job classifications at WDW, it's mind blowing, from teaching new Cast Members old tricks, to financing deposits from a store, anything you want. Go for what makes you happy, Disney will have something.

will i have to move to disney to do something disney related or can I stay in chicago

Disney may have some operations in Chicago, but between now and when you graduate college that can change. You should check www.disneycareers.com and see if anything is avaialable in that part of the world. Of course, things pertaining to parks though are based in Florida and California.

As far as what you should study...anything will basically work. Disney needs lots of business majors, architects, computer people, etc. You can basically find something with any sort of degree, but it may not be your first job out of college.

I graduate college next year with degrees in Finance and Marketing and hope to get a spot in the parks division out of school.

Another good option to consider (along with CareerStart, which you sound interested in) would be to complete a Disney College Program, which would happen after you've been in college for at least one semester. After that, you are then eligible for Disney Professional Internships (http://disneyinterns.com) which get you further into the company should you be accepted.

There truly are endless ways to get involved with this massive operation. You'll find something, no doubt!

I'm not really sure what kinda jobs you're interested in.... but i personally want to be a recruiter of some type for Disney... especially for the college program... (I'm majoring in Human resources) and i know they have regional reps so u could stay in one general location... i bet where u live has one.... so u could look into jobs like that, that are regional... just go to disney's career website and look up your city for ideas :p

Disney actually has quite a few assets that do business in Chicago.

There's WLS (ABC7) which is a Disney owned affiliate at 1059/1060 W. Addison, there are Disney Corp. offices on 333 N. Michigan (not sure of the tenants, but I've heard a range of everything from theme park sales, to ESPNZone, to WDI number crunchers), Disney Channel and Radio Disney, both at 401 N. Michigan, and another Radio Disney office at 190 N. State.

And don't forget Doorway to Dreams which just opened in Chicago.
