Disney Blog...photos of Maurice's & Belle's Cottage

Maybe i'm being a debbie downer here, but I think it looks kinda plain. Was that the look they were going for there?

I have to tell you...the photos I saw of Carsland as it was coming together didn't really impress me at first. But then when I saw all the components together, it just blew me away. I think the same thing is going to happen with FLE when it's all completed.

The cottage, the little town with Gaston's Tavern, the BOG restaurant, and Prince Eric's castle are all going to be part of the Fantasyland Forest setting, so together I bet all their little details will sum to something that is spectacular.

I'm excited, and reserving final judgment for when it all comes together in the end.

The details and environment of Fantasyland are going to look fantastic. I know people aren't thrilled with the attraction lineup, but visually the entire area is going to look great.

This. It's tough to imagine anyone being disappointment with the ambiance and appearance of the FLE once it is all complete. Heck, the theming for the Rapunzel bathrooms apparently look fantastic. In terms of emersion, I suspect it will be on par with Carland and WWHP.

But, as you say, when it comes to rides, there's something to be desired. The lack of an E-ticket anchor and just the fact that few are really being added is a disappointment. Especially since they are using prime real estate for M&G's. Personally, I am fine with the reported quality of the rides, but I do think they should have found a way to get another 1-3 rides in there (or, at least, not lost SWSA) -- a BatB ride in that area or a ride under the big top instead of Pete's Silly Sideshow or a small dark ride in the forest attached to the 7DMT. Heck, instead of the gift shop and Gaston's, they could have done a Rapunzel Tower and ride.

Not sure if I'm just extra hopeful or not, but if you look at these pics, and others closely, you can see some green construction walls just inside the new castle walls that appear to allow for entry to Maurice's Cottage (most of the pics you can see the backside of them). Am I mis-reading these? Anyone else have any thoughts?

Edit: just watched a presentation from John Frost, and he has a great picture that shows the full construction wall. He's put the pics on Google+, for those that follow him there. Exciting!

Yeah, I see the wall you are looking at. Very interesting. That is clearly inside the castle walls between the cottage area and the Mine Ride. Not sure why they would put that up now if they weren't planning to start letting people into that area.
