We are staying at Shades of Green in December and I was wondering how much of Disney is actually present in the renovated resort. Thanks in advance everyone.
There is not much at shades of green that is disney stuff. We stayed there this past june. We didnt have a very good time. They just reopened as you probably know, and they were very unprepared. The food, rooms, and services were good, however some of the staff was terrible. For example, one night we did E-ride night(park stays open 3 hours later) and my sister had to wake up our bus driver who was sleeping in the back of the bus with a pillow! Needless to say we filed the necessary complaints. The hotel is gorgeous on the outside and in. But to answer your question again, there is not much at the hotel that is actually "disney". Enjoy your stay.
I agree with Chris. We stayed there in 1997 and it doesn't feel very Disneyesque. Less themeing than the Contemporary. Also you can't have stuff you buy in the parks delivered to your hotel nor does your room key work as a charge card or anything like that.
But the rooms are big and it's just a short walk across the street to the monorail station at the Poly so you're plenty close to the magic - for a great price!
I haven't had to deal with the Staff, so I wouldn't know. But judging from my previous experiences, Customer Service isn't #1 on the Governments list of priorities
