HELLO EVERYONE. I'LL KEEP THIS SHORT. A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO I READ A ARTICLE IN THE HOUSTON PAPER ABOUT IDEALS FOR THE ASTRODOME. HOUSTON IS LOOKING FOR IDEALS, AND POSSIBLE SOMEONE, TO COME IN AND GIVE THE ASTRODOME A NEW USE. THE PAPER SAID THE THE CITY WAS LOOKING FOR DISNEY AND UNIVERSAL (AND ABOUT 5 OTHERS) TO MAKE OFFERS OF THINGS THAT COULD BE DONE. WAS WONDERING WHAT EVERYBODY THOUGHT OF THIS AND IF ANYBODY HAS ACTUALLY HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?

What would they do with the Astrodome? There isn't much that could be done, it needs gobs of renovations with it, also there is a Six Flags right across the street. Not that that would be any competition of anything Disney but it doesn't make any sense.

Isn't the Astrodome now called Reliant Staduim, and it will be the home of the Houston Texans? I thought Disney was getting out of the sporting thing, becuase they sold the Angels, which in the world of sports right now was probably a bad move... but Disney is getting out of that... right?
I could see it if they were going to make a Disney Market or Village, or Disney Quest out of it, but it doesn't seem feasable... plus the Texans would need a new staduim... ???

There is no Astrodome in Dallas.

Reliant Field is a totally brand new (built last year) for the Houston Texas FB team.

Disney has sold the Angels and are looking to sell the Mighty Ducks. Personally, I don't think that it's a bad move.

I think WWofS is a success. The Braves always draw good crowds during Spring Training, bringing non-locals in to watch and go to the parks at the same time. The Bucs having training camp there now and it seems to be sucessful and popular. The AAU camps and other amateur competitions are popular as well drawing in families that normally wouldn't be there.

first of all i didn't start this thread to be negative. houston is not selling the dome they want a long term lease that will bring people to the area and make it busier. they asked disney for ideals and if interested.

they reason i thought this would be a good thread is if anybody could come up with a ideal it would be disney. and was wondering what that ideal might be?
