Hmm...
Even with 2 daughters whom I love dearly, I'm starting to get Prince and Princessed out.
Hopefully the other atmosphere entertainers have a little more to offer as atmosphere in the area.
I'll reserve final judgement though until I see them in person.

Does this mean they will possibly bring back the sword in the stone effect? If they are making princes in the castle courtyard... Or is that area no longer the courtyard.

I for one think this is great.

This is what the whole park should have a again. Streetmosphere that reflects the theme of the area, unrelated to any movie or characters. There was a talk on another thread these days about the Frontierland stunt show that existed in 80's/90's. I think this goes in same direction.. a direction we haven't gone in a long time.

Area specific entertainment is nice, but it can't save a weak show. Look at what BVS got for its entertainment compared with this. They're both theme related, but one tries to appeal to a broad audience and the other is just daycare workers in renaissance fair outfits. The bar was set very low for this project, sadly.

Bringing back the Sword in the Stone ceremony would have achieved similar goals, but with a more positive reaction and lower cost to Disney's entertainment developers.

But you can't compare BVS with Fantasyland.
BVS is on the same league as Main Street and Hollywood Blvd, both of which already have streetmospheare like the one you're talking about.

I'm waiting until they actually start performing to decide what I think about them. I'm just happy they're adding street entertainment that isn't character related, as I don't remember the last time it happened.

Thank you!! I totally agree. Can't wait to see this and whatever else they have planned.

How about some circus performers for the CircusLand without a circus?

I saw this posted on another message board a couple days ago. Since they go the Royal Majesty Makers part right I would assume the Storybook Circus Giggle Gang is correct also...

"The two new Fantasyland shows at set to be called: "Storybook Circus Giggle Gang" and "The Royal Majesty Makers." They are apparently replacing the two saxophone quartets that have played in the Magic Kingdom for many years. The sax guys stopped showing up on the schedule a couple of weeks ago.

Giggle Gang leads me to think of something like the old Dinoland Jesters with whistles and juggling and such.

I would guess the Majesty Makers are a small group of people who provide coronation ceremonies of some type for children. "

I love Streetmosphere. It adds magic to everything. It makes it feel like there are really people living inside the Magic Kingdom. It makes the place feel alive and vibrant. It really helps to set the mood and the story. I love it!

Let me clarify my earlier remark a bit. I like the idea of adding atmosphere performers. I agree that it add something special to the area that is a great addition.
My reservations were strictly based on the concept that this group is focused on princes and princes, dances and balls, etc. And I do understand that this seems exactly the target for a castle courtyard show.
I am looking forward to giving them a shot to win me over with their performance, and very much looking forward to what other groups they might add.

My 12 year old cousin (grown in a lot of ways, but still very young and imaginative in others) will flip her lid over this. The first thing she asked me when I told her about this Fantasyland project was if there would be a way kids could become royalty and learn to become princesses, because she'd love to get involved in something like that. I responded "Er-um...I don't think so." Her question seemed oddly specific. She's handicapped with CP and the way she plays is through storytelling and creating. She'll love this. Even if she's not picked for it because she's a little older than her fellow princess fans. This will sell her on this project and maybe I'll get her to stop talking about legoland. xD

Saw them yesterday when i was at Pinnochios wasn’t able to go over (as i was working ) but Sir Stirling and Lady Llewellyn were walking around near the carousel talking to guests then Sir Stirling pulled out his sword and shield and let younger kids wield the foam sword, similar to at the captain Jack show where they do the hit right, hit left etc. But it was cute and a lot of kids were loving it, didn’t get to see much because i had to go back inside but looks like a great addition especially to the very open area that the courtyard is now.
