ESPN has granted a waiver for the New England Sports Network (NESN) to broadcast the Red Sox - Tigers game at 7:00 PM this evening. ESPN has an exclusivity agreement with MLB that dictates that ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball will be the only broadcast on Sunday evenings after 6:00 PM. The Sox-Tigers game was rained out yesterday and a day-night double header was scheduled for 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM today. The 7:00 PM game was originally going to happen with no cameras rolling, but ESPN has granted a waiver of their exclusivity rights to allow NESN to broadcast the game.

Might be a small thing, but it's really nice to see just the same.

Bravo! Someone in the management at ESPN did a nice thing for all those fans who would have otherwise missed the game.... Most companies would have done just the opposite...

+1 for ESPN!
