Disney and Branson, MO

My parents are currently vacationing in Branson, Missouri. (I didn't realize there was any place you could go besides Disney. LOL) Anyway, they are kind of timeshare junkies (I'm taking them on the DVC tour in November - Cha-ching!), but I digress. So, they have been going on numerous property tours, every tour has said that Disney has bought more land than they own in Florida and are planning on building a larger than Disneyworld size resort area in the Branson area. Now, I don;t see how this is even remotely possible, but this is the rumor board so I thought I would see if anyone else had ever heard of such a thing. Let me know what you think.

Disney often buy and sell land as an investment. :) You are right that at the moment, a second WDW sized resort in the USA is highly unlikely.

Off subject a little, but, Silver Dollar City in Branson opened up a second theme park this year called Celebration City. Now if you have ever walked down main street in Disney World then you would be very surprised at the resemblence the new city looks as you walk into it. My family was amazed, it is so beautiful, but it made us miss Disney.
Dont know if its true or not but we were told that Silver Dollar hired a former Disney executive, and that he had a big hand in the resemblance.
