Disney already has 600,000 volunteers

Disney's volunteering program is filling up fast. This year, Disney is sponsoring a program called "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" to promote volunteering in your local community. They are offering a free one-day ticket to a Disney theme park in return for one day of volunteering. The limit of tickets to be given out was capped at one million. 600,000 people have already signed up and the program has only been going on for six weeks.

HandsOn Network, the largest volunteer organization in the country, is working with Disney on this project.

That's incredible...100,000 a week? What type of projects are the volunteers helping with I wonder....

Obviously folks are doing this for the free ticket...although I'm sure the fact they will be helping their community at the same time makes it a no brainer.

Seriously?! They can do that!? What are they going to see? That I'm a EPCOT nerd?

Yeah, that's probabaly what they are doing. Most charities run one for volunteers.

There are no opportunities in my area. The only one I've found that's not filled is somewhere in central NH,3-4 hours away. I'm still trying, want to be apart of this! I'm happy it's a success.
