So I am taking my 2 best friends, both in 30s, both of their 1st time in Disney. During our trip they are offering both Not So scary Halloween, and Magic Kingdom After Hours. I have been to NSSH in the past and had such a blast and the large amounts of candy as well. Also dying to see the Hocus Pocus as well. Which of the 2 events would you say would be the best event to attend.

MNSSHP: Lots to do. Trick or treating, meet and greets, fireworks, parade (runs twice), shows. Even attractions are open. But don't make the attractions your main focus (Haunted Mansion excepted of course) or you'll miss out on party activities. Disney After Hours is just three hours with very short waits to do the attractions. It really depends on your priorities.

Is anybody bringing kids? MNSSHP is literally "Not So Scary" to be kid and family friendly. I would just do after hours if your party is just adults.

...AND...

Sneak over to Universal Studios for some adult Halloween fun. This is almost exactly what we did when we went during that time frame and had a blast!

I love MNSSHP, but the focus is not the attractions, though three will be themed for the party this year, those and of course the HM. I wouldn't waste time with the candy unless the line was short.

If your focus is the regular attractions than the after hours would be a better bet.

LUVofDIS hit the nail right on the head. I will say, of course, that the MNSSHP parade is the park's best parade - not that there is a lot of competition.
