They've been moved back as scenery while construction on Expedition: Everest takes place. They're doing a lot of work by the AK maintenance dock where they were previously stored at.

They had a weird schedule, they were running and then not running, and then they reopened as the Radio Disney boats, and then I think around Aug of 1999 they were finally retired

I went to Animal Kingdom 2 weeks before it open to the public and i dont know what boats u guys are talking about. ( We had special pass holder vip visit to Animal Kingdom)

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. I remember waiting in a long line for the boat ride and it went like 1 mile an hour. The worst thing is that there was nothing to see except trees, and the ride seemed to go on forever. Very boring. Good move on Disney's part for closing it. :snore:
 
I know it has been talked about before but they now have 1 of the river boats at the magic kingdom seven seas lagoon. I talked to one boat driver their and he said it was disneys answer to the problem of the boats not being big enough, he told me the wouldn't move very fast in wind or anything becuase of the flat bottom and the single prop. however thay did load it for one trip to the fw/wl today 9-7-03. so i guess they want to use them.
