Honestly I don't think that they will do anything at all and it will sit and rot. They did the same thing with River County. That park became absolete when the other two water parks opened. When AK opened there was no need for something like Discovery Island. I really believe that they will just leave it to rot away just like River Country.
I tend to agree. At least until there is more concrete evidence of WDI truly utilizing the space they already have. Oh, and when the economy begins to turn around and attendance is back to nominal levels.
There are far more examples of wasted space, then using old space for new ideas. Just off the top of my head, besides River Country and Discovery Island, I can think of the 20,000 plot, old Diamond Horseshoe theater, WOL, various soundstages at DHS, the early century POP buildings, and I'm sure there is more.
I would be surprised if they did anything with Discovery Island before they did something with the 20K plot, WOL, or the soundstages to name a few.
EDIT: I guess we can sort of add PI to the list. Until they refurb and open new stuff anyway.
