Discover Disney FL Res ticket...new/existing MagicBands?

We're heading to WDW in a few weeks...planning to get some Discover DIsney FL Resident tickets for us and the four kids. The two of us have MagicBands from our trip in Feb, and the kids have no bands. When you buy tickets online early enough, do they mail MBs with each ticket already associated with each band? Are MBs only for resort guests (we stayed at Beach Club in Feb, but can't find anything available on property for this trip)? When you buy tickets at the ticket windows, do they give them as MBs or paper tickets?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for any help.

MagicBands are only free for those staying on property. Your new tickets will be plastic cards with an RFID chip and they can do most everything the Magic Bands will do for those staying off property. Your existing MagicBands will work with your tickets and you can purchase some (starting at something like $13) for the kids if you really want them to have them.

Thanks for the info. I have several other MagicBands from previous trips. Can I link those to the kids' tickets?

Yes, but you will have to go to Guest Services in one of the parks or Downtown Disney to do so. The MB will be linked via a My Disney Experience Account. Disney started doing this after folks started purchasing Limited Release/Edition Magic Bands for others. I was able to get the two Halloween MBs I purchased for my daughter and her fiance unlinked from me to them. I would suggest using the Guest Services at the Magic Kingdom next door to Tony's on Main Street, especially since they also sell MBs there (and it's not as crowded as GS at Town Hall). The CM who helped us was also able to fix the problem my daughter had with her AP card.
