Discounts for Disney Deluxes during peak season?

Just curious what discounts, if any, are generally available for the deluxe resorts during peak season. Assuming that there are, in fact, such discounts, how and where do you find them? As stupid as it may sound, when I stay at a Disney deluxe, I generally just pay the rack rates without putting much effort into locating a discount. Guess I'm just curious to find out if I have been leaving money on the table all these years.

Thanks in advance for any information!

Check mousesavers.com for historical discounts; Disney's own website will have current discounts. The deluxe resorts are always included; room availability and resort choice may be limited. We have stayed deluxe during both the summer and holiday seasons and have received 25-35% discounts. A friend was in the world over Christmas Day and into Christmas week (the busiest time of year) last year and had free dining for her family while vacationing at WL.

If you have only paid rack rate, you have left money on the table.

Thanks for that advice! Much appreciated!

I just checked out the historical discounts on mousesavers.com and here is my question. It seems as if the discounts for the summer season, for example, don't get released until a couple months (if even that much) before the dates of travel. How the heck does one find availability and plan a Disney vacation during peak season with such little advanced notice?

You book it early and then when/if a discount comes up, you have your travel agent(or yourself if you did not use a TA), call and apply the discount. This may mean changing room type or even resort if you are flexible enough. Good luck!

they do discount alot keep an eye and ear out. and as posted previously ANY promo can be applied at a later date assuming you are eligible. (we routinely book or vacations when free dining comes out historically even though we have no guarantee)

As of right now WDW has a room only discount from 10/04/15 - 12/23/15 with 25% being the most you can get discounted for a Deluxe Resort.

Now during that same time period I happened to get a pin code for 35% off the Deluxe Resorts that I used and reserved a Standard Club Level Room the Boardwalk Inn from 12/07/15 - 12/21/15.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what do you mean when you say you got a pin code?

This year we decided to go to WDW on 7/7. The problem was the only week the entire family had available was starting 7/25. We were able to get 2 rooms at the GF with an annual passholder discount of 35% for 4 nights 7/25-7/29. Honestly, it was a day or two too short, but we did get a discounted room.

A pin code is when WDW e-mails you a room only discount or dining plan offer meant only for you and no one else. Basically if you happen to get one you click the link in the e-mail they send you, which directs you to a set of numbers which is your pin code. After you verify everything you can go ahead and use it assuming the resort you want and it's room category is available and the dates selected with the code work for you.

The pin code I got this past May which I used to reserve my December 2015 reservation was e-mailed to me when there was no public discounts available during that time.

Now a few ways to get a pin code is by requesting those Disney Park planning DVD's, having a My Disney Experience Account and being on file from previous trips to WDW.
