Discount Question

I have a question about the summer discounts for all of you experts. On the disney website it lists the 30% promotion. If you click a chart comes up listing specific resorts that it covers. I know it says select resorts. But, underneath it also says call for dscounts on other resorts. Does the dscount apply to all resorts? For example I am interested in Wilderness Lodge villas but only Saratoga and Old Key West are listed. Are there some rooms available at each resort or only the ones listed. I noticed some of the ones listed for the promotion that runs through June are different than ones listed for the one that starts in August. I am just confused as to if we would be able to get a discount at places other than the ones listed. I am trying to get an idea of the discounts for our trip next summer by looking at the ones for this summer. Any help is appreciated!!

I did a quick look, and for the late summer offer (the one you noted lists discounts up to 30%) at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, I ran the dates Aug 15 - 21st. It looks like the discount offer takes 5% off the rack rate of a one bedroom villa. So yes, the WL Villas are included in this discount offer, but only at 5% (for this set of dates, anyway).

Ultimately, it is tough to look at the discounts and availability for this summer and read too much into it for next summer. Discount offers, availability, etc might be completely different next year.

Best of luck in your planning :D

I think the promo means the 30% discount applies to "select resorts," and a smaller discount applies to other resorts. I booked Coronado the other day for a 25% discount.

The discounts are done based on occupancy at a given resort. So if OKW and SSR are both at only 80% occupancy, but AKL is at 90%, they may offer a 30% at OKW and SSR, but only a 20% at AKL since they have more bookings. And it will vary even within the resort. Say the standard view at AKL is 80% booked, but the savannah view is 95% booked, they may not even offer a discount for savannah view while offering a discount for standard view. There is a fine line between diluting the value of a good by constantly discounting it, and discounting a good so that you aren't stuck with unsold inventory.
