Since I haven't seen this posted yet and Wright being one of my favorite directors, I figured it should be mentioned.

I had a feeling something like this was going to happen ever since they mentioned the re-writes. Being that Edgar Wright creates films with deep meaning and hidden references that require viewers to watch a film several times to catch them all, it only made sense for him to direct a Marvel film. My guess is that Ant-Man didn't match up to Marvel's current cinematic formula (filled with useless banter and too much comedy) and decided to do what Marvel does best, get someone else to fill the role. Not to mean that Marvel fired him, it just seems when there's an obstacle in their way, they just go around it instead of stopping to think if they did something wrong. I am sad to see Edgar go, he would have done an amazing job on Ant-Man, right up there with the Cornetto Trilogy.

A little nervous, stylistically he is pretty neat and he has been involved from the get go with ant-man. Will be interesting who they replace him with. James Gunn?

I'm disappointed, this man was so focused and driven to make Ant-Man happen and when the film was finally green-lit, I was happy for the man. It's just sad that he ultimately decided to leave. My guess is that there was a heavy amount of pressure dealing with the constant rewrites. It ain't easy pleasing the suits!

It's to late to hire someone like Wes Anderson. Marvel wants to keep to their schedule, so expect a TV director or a Journeyman director to pickup where Edgar Wright left off.
