Dinosaur conversion to Indiana Jones

Hi, I'm a long-time lurker, 1st time poster.

I don't recall ever seeing a thread about this so here goes. I have read that the Dinosaur attraction in DAK is nut for nut, bolt for bolt, exactly the same as the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland.

Does anyone know if TDO has ever considered making over Dinosaur to Indy? I think it would be vastly more popular!! Just my thoughts and please share yours.

1. How would Indy fit with the theme of Dinoland U.S.A.?
2. What does Temple of the Forbidden Eye have to do with animals other than snakes?
3. Why would TDO invest in such an idea?

Might as well clone it and put it in mgm. Although after all these years, I'd like to see an original thrilling Indy ride for mgm.

While the ride path is more or less exactly the same (I've been told that there is at least one minor difference), the surrounding show building is very different. For one, there's no pit in the area that is equivalent to the giant, laser beam-shooting Mara statue (the section with the giant sauropod that burps at you).

And, no, I don't think there is any possibility whatsoever of changing Dinosaur over to Indy.

Indy is often in a setting similar to DAK (a jungle) when out adventuring. Maybe it could be the start of a refurb, "plusing" or removal of Dinoland U.S.A.? Maybe it would be nice to have the ride based on a successful franchise?

Dinosaur is the "Dino Institute." It's the basis for the entire Dinoland and why everything is there in the first place. Students of the institute made Chester & Hester's Dinoland to attract tourists and make money as well as the Restarauntosaurus.

This is all wrong, where did you hear this? I don't recall Indiana Jones fitting in at Animal Kingdom, much less Dinoland U.S.A., and I'd prefer Dinosaur than Indy.

But I like the way you're thinking, destroy the indiana jones epic stunt spectacular at DHS and create a new Indiana Jones dark ride or thrill ride!

People complain about the theming, but man, do I love how everything in that area ties together. (I even like how Dino Institute "sponsors" Finding Nemo: The Musical)

Ah...the one that comes up again and again. An Indiana Jones ride in WDW. It's gotta happen. It's been talked about nonstop in the fan community for fifteen years now. While I love the Indy stunt show and I know Animal Kingdom NEEDS Dinosaur, I will always long for an Indy ride to find its way to WDW.

Do I see it happening? Someday. Do I see it being the EMV ride system...probably not. Hopefully we still get an awesome adventurous ride themed to the world's most popular archaeologist!

If WDW ever does get an Indy ride, I hope it is a clone of Temple Of The Crystal Skull from Tokyo DisneySea. As much as I love the original Indy at DLR, this one is by far Disney's best. But any Indy ride is better than no Indy ride, and the stunt show has run its course. So bring it; any version. But don't replace Dinosaur. I agree with others in that Dinoland is not the place for the attraction. There should be room to get creative if the stunt show were removed at DHS.

Sure an Indy ride at WDW would be nice, although there is no place for it at Animal Kingdom and I personally love Dinosaur and wouldn't want to see it go.

But I also feel there is a mystique about Indy at Disneyland. I have never been to Disneyland and when I do I'm glad that I'll see some new stuff like Matterhorn, Indy, Pinocchio, Mr. Lincoln, Alice in Wonderland, etc. Not to mention coupled with some of the similar rides from WDW. I think that's what makes the trips to WDW and DL unique is that while there are many similarities there are still several differences that make it something new

They would need to redo dinoland to make it fit and I doubt they will remove a kid friendly area.

Absolutley not. Like others have stated previously, it fits the land, and imo is a very good ride in itself. My family and I love Dinosaur! Indiana Jones is a great movie, but will it stand the test of time? A basic Dinosaur ride is more likely to be relevant 50 years from now, then a movie from the 80's

(yes I know they just came out with another one)

Heck yes Indy will stand the test of time. Its a timeless classic.

I'd LOVE to see Indy at WDW especially replacing the stunt show, but it does not fit at AK.

Eh....I dunno about a timeless classic (I am not about to debate opinions) but I would like to see it at DHS, just to give the park another ride. Agreed 100% about it not fitting at AK.

an Indiana Jones attraction could fit in AK if the plot revolved around, say...a temple belonging to an Animal themed deity.

Still, it shouldn't replace Dinosaur.

Indy has been around roughly 30 years...he still has legs.

Even if the movies never continue, the theme of ADVENTURE is so huge and prevailent through the Indy attractions, that anybody who goes to a theme park should appreciate it! Indy is my favorite Disney ride still to this day!

Dr. Jones' degree is in archeology, not paleontology.
