Opinion?!

I really don't want to make an opinion until all of Dino-Rama is open...right now it looks blah!

:zipit:

I hope they get everything cleaned up.

PS - If anyone goes back, take some pics of the merchandise! Thanks!

Yeah i agree, it looks pretty rough. I have never been keen on this project, but now we can see it, it looks worse than I imagined. :(

Ahh well, at least it is tucked out of the way, and if we dont want to see it, we can easily bypass it all together :)

I don't think it even looks ready to open...they should wait until the whole project is done. Also...those big dinos woulda been a heck of a lot kewler if they were audio-animatronic...they need to be spitting at people...especially the big brachiosaur...too lifeless. The 100 foot crane towering over the entire land doesn't help either...they need to close it for a couple months and finish it.

I thought it was supposed to look tacky, mimicking the old roadside attractions in the 1950's. They didn't have audio-animatronics for their dinosaurs. Having said that though, does it look like they dropped the ball in making it look tacky?

Well, Steve did refer to it as a "soft opening". That means everything isn't in place yet. Although in much better condition (having a lot to do with it being inside) RnR was not complete either when they started offering soft openings. Neither was the rapids ride in AK. Obviously, they probably won't have it all cleared up by the time of the official opening but perhaps it will be a little nicer.. As for the dinosaurs, if they are going to stick with the mid-century-tourist-trap theme they have decided upon for this area, the dinos should be neither animated nor spitting watter (although they might be able to get away with the water spitting part)... Speaking of water spitting, when I was in MGM the other day, I noticed that the walker thing (you can tell I'm a big star wars fan from that description, can't you? ;) ) in front of Star Tours was shooting water from its front guns. They were moving back and forth like pistons when they shot and had sound f/x, too. This may be old news but it's the first time I've noticed it. :)

No, from what I have seen both in pictures and in person, they have done a great job of making it look cheap and tacky... perhaps a little too good of a job :(

The dirty Corvair in the parking lot across from the ride helps express the tacky feel. I am wondering though, if this is suppose to be a mockup of an older era, why wouldn;t the Corvair be in tiptop shape. Wouldn't it be very new?

I think it looks neat. I think it is best not to be too quick to judge these things based solely on small photographs of an incomplete project so I'm looking forward to checking out the finished product first hand! :)

While this was being built guests would always aske me what is being built behind the green fence. I had so much fun telling them different things and they all walked away like they had real info. I even had one guy convinced that Disney did not own that little piece of property.

The AT-AT's in front of star wars always shot water.....the guns were turned off during the water shortage. But now that everything is alright for water, it seems they are back on.
