Does anyone have any suggestions for a dinner theater or show that we could reserve in February in the Orlando area that would be suitable for all ages? Last year we booked a night at Cirque for the ladies and DQ for the guys, but this year we'd like to do something that we'd all enjoy. Our group ranges in age from 11 to 58. It needn't be at WDW, since we will be staying in Poinciana this time, and we will have vehicles. Thanks!!

Hi NEMO!

We LOVE Medievil Times! :sohappy:

It's a dinner show set in King Arthur's court featuring dining, dancing, cheering, acrobats, horse tricks, Merlin's magic and jousting...with lots of pyro effects tossed in. Fun for the whole family!

Check it out!

Ah, man. I don't look in this section often enough. If you haven't already booked something, then may I toss out a suggestion of "Pirate's Dinner Adventure?" It's really very fun. They have drinks and appetizers set up in the pre-show area, along with a shop and a pirate museum. You end up with some pre-show entertainment when the appetizers and drinks are winding down, which culminates in the return of the Pirates who had years before been run out of the town. The pirates take everyone "captive" and in groups you are lead to your seats. From there, it's a fantastic show with plenty of action, singing and even audience participation(there's a competition between the Pirates and everyone in each section takes part in one of the competitions. Also the younger guests may get asked to play a special part near the end). The show starts at about 8PM(the reason for having the appetizers available beforehand) and ends at about 10 or 10:30. After the show, they keep the place open and have a dance party in the pre-show area which doesn't cost anything extra, so if people aren't tired yet and want to party afterwards, they have the option of sticking around. Here' the website with the rest of the information:

Oh, and if you book ahead of time as you are planning to do, keep in mind that when you pick up your tickets, they will give you the option of upgrading to VIP seating. This will put your seat in the first three rows of whatever section you are in. I think it was a few dollars extra per person(don't remember the exact amount), but if you know to plan ahead for it, then it's less likely to cause any problems for the group to put together. In my opinion, it's worth it. Have fun whichever one you decide to go to.

Thanks so much - this really looks like a lot of fun.
My son was petrified of pirates when he was little, so we still tease him about the first time we took him on PoC (he was about 2 1/2 at the time). He closed his eyes through the entire ride and just kept muttering "I don't like the pirates, I don't like the pirates!"

I second the Pirates Dinner Adventure. We went to see it a few months ago and had a blast. The group of us (3 adults) all loved it, as did kids all over the place. It had good food, interesting entertainment beforehand and during the show itself. My only complaint was that if you are seated near the back, it can be quite dark during parts of the show, which was occasionally frustrating when I was trying to eat.

We also went to see Dixie Stampede around the same time. I didn't care for the pre-show (far too corny for my tastes), and the food (while good enough) had very small portions. By February, they will probably be back to their "regular" show. Last year, they continued their Christmas shows well past the end of December, but I don't know how long.

My last experience with Medieval Times was about two years ago. The food was downright awful and the main show "okay but not great". They have a new show since then, though.

I have not been to see Arabian Nights, but I have been told by many other locals who have been that it is "the least value among the Orlando dinner shows".

Those are the big shows in Orando, I think. Ironically, I'm going to the Polynesian Luau at SeaWorld tonight. I'll try to remember to report back about it afterward.

The thing that was really cute when we went to see Pirates Dinner Adventure was that at every seat, they had beads, a sort of headband thing and a paper pirate hat. One of the characters in the show was a beautiful blonde woman called "The Golden Gypsy." After the show was over, on the way out of the the dining area, she was standing with one of the pirates by the doors leading to the pre-show/dance party area. My son went over to her(at the age of 5, mind you) and told her she was very pretty and he wanted to give her something. She bent down to see him and he put his beads around her neck. She was touched, because he was just so sweet, so she gave him a kiss on the cheek. It made his entire night. :D

As promised, I wanted to follow up with info about the luau at SeaWorld. It was really good -- better than I had expected. Hands-down the best food I have eaten at any other dinner show. The show was entertaining. Well-done, and it had a lot of audience intereaction. The show itself ran about an hour, but there is cocktail time beforehand. I understand that they do the cocktail time outdoors when it's not raining (which it was last night). I would recommend it. As far as can tell, you don't need to go to SeaWorld that day (or at all) to go. I didn't. They allow you to enter an hour before check-in. If you timed it right, you could probably get in a quick ride on Kraken during that hour.
