What's the best character dining for dinner? Looking at food quality. Seems breakfast is the better meal. Any good ones for dinner?

I would guess CRT maybe. Not done it myself though so no first hand recommendation.

I have done both CP and Chef Mickey, and enjoyed them - but they're not a foodie's choice. What about Tusker House, that's one I might be tempted to try.

Looked at the menu for TH and it just doesn't appeal to my kids. They want a create your own pasta station and carved turkey, chicken, etc.

Most of the buffets offer one or more carved meats (generally not of great quality). Other than that, you're out of luck. (In our experience, character dining food quality is just not great. The best food quality we've seen at a character meal, outside of Cinderella's Royal Table (which is not a buffet - you order from a prix fixe menu) is at the Crystal Palace, but the time to complete the meal and see all the characters (nearly 3 hours in our case) diminished the experience.

If the kids want to create their own pasta, the only options are:
- Landscape of Flavors (Art of Animation food court)
- Old Port Royale Food Court (Caribbean Beach Resort food court)
- Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory (Port Orleans French Quarter food court)
- Riverside Mill (Port Orleans Riverside food court)

Another tip: if the kids' palates are limited and you want to be sure that certain items are on the menu (barring any last-minute menu changes, which Disney does all the time), I suggest utilizing the touringplans "Search for Menu Items" tool, which can tell you every place on property that serves a particular item. You can further limit the search results by location and restaurant type, if desired. Just go to any touringplans page for any restaurant, and you'll see the search box in the top right-hand corner. My family has some diverse food loves (my son is obsessed with mussels, my daughter loves white lasagna, my husband is on a life quest to try every Scotch egg, and I love sushi), so I've used the tool in the past to see if I could find places with some of our favorites. Here's a link to one of the pages from which you can access the tool: https://touringplans.com/magic-kingdom/dining/be-our-guest

We always enjoy the 1900 Park Fare Cinderella dinner. Also Chef Mickey is ok, the best part is meeting the core characters.

Thanks all!

How about Minnie's seasonal dine at H&V? Menu looks like they have a lot of different options.

You'll get a lot of variety there, but again, as with nearly all Disney buffets, don't expect great quality. It will be on par with your local Ponderosa, Golden Corral or Old Country Buffet.

We have heard great things about BOG for dinner and pictures with the Beast. Alas you will only find him at dinner.
The one timen I did BOG dinner, it was great, and the beast meet and greets was very fun. The character was very animated and engaging. I'll be going back this year for my birthday.

We are going Presidents Week in February, our 180+7 opened yesterday and I was able to get two reservations for dinner at BOG, the first one is DH, DD, DD and myself. Then later last night I was able to get a table for 7. My brother, wife and son live about 15 minutes away and decided to join us.

Based on what you said, it seems like the kids just want a very basic Disney buffet...Crystal Palace/Chef Mickey's/Hollywood & Vine. All will suit your needs.

Garden Grill is another good character experience, although it is All-You-Care-to-Enjoy, so not quite a buffet. But there's a variety of food brought to your table...salad, bread, mac&cheese, pot roast, turkey, fries, desserts, and the like. Farmer Chip, Dale, Mickey and Pluto are so fun and it's awesome to dine with a rotating view of Living with the Land.
