Dinner at the Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Dining Room

Very enjoyable!

It was our first country restaurant back in the late 80s when I was 7 and we now have a large meal in a new country each year.

The food was great, I had steak, and the portions were quite large. Our chef was hysterical, as they all should be and are, and added a great amount of laughter to the table.

We had a very late dinner and were able to see Illuminations from our area. Not a perfect view, but you could see and hear the spectacle. My parents liked it a lot too.

Thank you, I have a 10 year old daughter who loves Japanese Anime and wishes to go...

I can't find any good pics of the dining area and the menu seems to only tell you that one can either have chicken, shrimp, scallop or steak...

The Mitsukoshi dept. store in Japan has anime stuff.. tons of Hello Kitty.

I've never eaten at Teppenyaki, but I think you choose the type of meat and everyone gets stuff like fried ride/lo mein, etc. -Stephanie

I haven't eaten there, but we have a Japanese steakhouse nearby that cooks on the hibachi table. Friends have told me it very similar...:slurp: The secret is to get an outgoing chef. They really draw you into the dining experience.

Is this the menu that you've seen...Menu

It sounds like it could be fun. And yes, that is one of the menus I have looked at. I like the themed dining experience...and the ambience' of places like Mexico or Germany. I wanted to make sure that Japan would be just as fun.

We ate at the teppanyaki Dining room last summer. We really enjoyed it an the chef was very funny. They cook your food there at the table. You choice what meat you want and they cook it for you. you also get a salad with ginger dressing. also they serve you a small bowl of rice and at the end they give you ice cream with cookies to make it look like a hidden mikey. For the kids they get a cup they can take home for their drink. I hope this helps. My whole family enjoyed it.:sohappy:

Unless you are a large party you will be seated with other groups. Some people don't care for this, but we always spend the meal yacking.

I don't mine sitting by people...as long as they are into the experience. Sounds like fun...

Its a white cat or kitty with a pink bow. Little girls seem to like her. I also heard they have someone outside of this building that demonstrates makeing candy. They also have candies from japan. She might also like to see the drumers that come out at scheduled times. you might want to check your map. They are neat to watch. There snowcones are good also. It is also a good spot to watch Iluminations. I hope this is not to much information. Enjoy your trip.:sohappy:

The ambiance is very nice too. I feel it is more immersive than some of the other world showcase restaurants. It just feels very Japanese, and moreso than your standard japanese-cook-at-your-table-fun.

The Teppanyaki Dining Room is our favorite!! We have gone the last 3 years, and will be going in Sept. My 5 yr old loves watching the chef. I usually get the shrimp/scallop & lobster combo (Now I'm hungry) and my daughter gets the chicken kids meal (I think it includes a drink, and I know it includes dessert) My daughter loves when the chef is cooking the shrimp b/c when he slices the tails off, he pretends to throw them at her, as they land on the plate in front of her!

Mmmmm...that does sound good...shrimp/scallop & lobster!

We're going in July and I am so looking forward to it. I've started the countdown but my wife think's it is too early (40 days). I want to try new dining experiences but I'm always drawn to the ones I know and love. I keep asking my daughter..."Are you sure you want Japan? Can we leave you there?":D
