I will be taking my 18yr old son in December for his high school graduation. What restaurants would you recommend ? We would like to do 2-3 sit down restaurants. He specifically said that he wants to do one character dining. He is not picky at all when it comes to food.

My favorite character meal is breakfast/brunch at Topolino's Terrace. Food is genuinely good, character interaction is outstanding, and very easy to hop on the skyliner and head to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. As for other meals, depends on what you're looking for both in terms of menu and budget as well as if you're looking for something in the parks or want something at your resort. Some other favorite sit-down restaurants include Yak & Yeti (Animal Kingdom), Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge), Via Napoli (EPCOT), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), La Hacienda (EPCOT), Boathouse (Disney Springs), Raglan Road (Disney Springs). Hope you have a great trip! Congrats to your son on his graduation!

If you enjoy seafood, the Boathouse is really good at Disney Springs. It's a little pricy but the food is divine. Their lobster is wonderful! If you go, it is easier to make a reservation with them from Open Table than anywhere else. I would also recommend Cape May at the Beach Club for a character meal or their seafood buffet is really good. Boma at Animal Kingdom is always scrumptious at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is also very nice to visit the animals on the overlook. The wonderful people from Africa are always happy to please and tell you all about the animals. The guides are all oh so very nice. Yak and Yeti is also a really good if you enjoy Southeast Asian food. It may also be a best bet if you want to go to Yak and Yeti to join Landry's Select Club. Google it if you're interested. It can be very nice because they allow you to book a reservation just a few days before your visit. Totally worth it. They also own T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe at Disney and many other restaurants across the country. Congrats to your child, and have a wonderful celebratory time at Disney!

For the character meal, my favorite is Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, for the variety of traditional and African-inspired choices. (Disclaimer: haven’t eaten there in several years.)

If he likes certain characters: the Pooh & Tigger clan are at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. Not the best food, but not bad. UK-inspired. And of course, Beast is at his castle, but he’s the only character you’ll see.

Boma. Although there are no characters at dinner, I feel like they have the best buffet food in all of WDW. Something different than the typical American food.

Where are you staying?

My favorites are Le Cellier Steakhouse, Monsieur Paul, The Yacht Club Steakhouse, Tiffin's, Citrico's, Jiko's, Narcoossee's, Topolino's Terrace, Ravello's and Il Mulino. Those are all about quality food.

But for fun, I like Akershus, the Biergarten, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and the Brown Derby.
