If you have a dining reservation and you are going to be late. How long will they hold your place? How soon do you have to cancel reservation if you decide to not go.

This is why its important to at least skim the cancellation policy to know what is expected of you.
You're supposed to cancel at least 24 hours prior although technically you have up til 11:59pm the day before.
There is no official grace period for being late. If you plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to your dining reservations then you should always have that buffer. I wouldn't dream of being more than 10-15 minutes late unless something beyond my control came up. If you're too late they may charge you the #10 per person no show fee.

Not planning on being late But it might be close as we arrive around noon and dining 3:15. I don't plan to be late but wanted to know incase. I did read they allow 15 min late

We always add in time for travel or avoid a ride if it looks close and we might get held up on a ride or crowds make walking to the restaurant slower. Weve been over our 15 min check in time a couple of times and had no problem when we tell the hostess what held us up. We recently encountered a full bus situation that made us have to at the last minute get an Uber to take us to DS for a meal at the Edison that cut it very close. With the situation now they are reasonably understanding. Certainly they wouldnt want a table sitting empty for an extended period of time so give yourself that buffer in case you know youll be cutting it close.

If by arriving you do mean onto property? Airport? Orlando by car?

Landing noon going on Magical Express. I figure we might be at resort Yacht Club by 2pm

Not sure when you're going but DME has been quite hit or miss lately. Some walk right on while others have said they waited 3 hours. Not sure how accurate that is though. In the past people have mentioned "long waits" but I've used the service close to 20 times and have never waited more than 15 minutes to get on the motor coach and no more than 15 minutes once on to actually pull out. Honestly I've gotten a bit concerned about how long the wait may be for my next trip. I may end up using a different transport.
