Dining seating

We have booked our cruise and some friends are thinking about cruising as well. Is there a way to request seating arrangement for dining together?

I'm not 100% sure about that. I do know that you can talk to the staff at your first dinner and they may be able to put you all together. We always have done the late seating for dinner, and there are usually open tables, so moving doesn't seem to be an issue. Our last cruise found us seated with another couple and a family of four. The couple moved to a table by themselves after the first dinner. I would imagine it's all contingent on how full your cruise is and what seating you have. We just find the later seating to be less crowded.

Yes, you just tell DCL that you want to be seated together, your reservations will then be linked for dining. If you use a travel agent, they need to set it up, otherwise just call DCL and have both reservation numbers.

Usual table sizes are 4, 6 or 8 people. But I have seen larger tables made up by tables being pushed together in the dining rooms.

Thank you @Bolna I am a family of 3 and I have an anxiety sitting with people I don't know, I am hoping to get another family of 3 or let us sit alone lol :)

You can always request a table just for your family! If you are booked through a travel agent, they can take care of it for you. If you have booked directly with Disney, just give them a call. We always do that. On the first day on the ship there is a place where you can go for dining changes (it will be noted on the first page of the Navigator) and you can go there to verify whether your request has been granted. If not, this is the best moment to get things set into motion to get it changed!

I was a little apprehensive at first, but when I got to talking to my tablemates, I had a lot of fun with them and they were great matches for me!

You may want to give it a try for one night if you can, it might surprise you.

If it doesn't work out, do as the others suggested, talk to your dining team/head waiter.

We've gotten stuck next to the Canadians that drink all day in the sun from day one (a very bad idea if you're not from Florida and frequent DCL'ers will know exactly the type I'm speaking of) so you're anxiety is warranted...

I have taken 5 Disney cruises and have never had an issue with my table mates. But I travel with my girls and they usually seat us with families with kids the same age.
