Dining Reservations Linked with Package Reservations?

My family just booked a trip for this August at the Bay Lake Towers and we made our dining reservations already because we have included the dining plan with our package. We're booked through AAA, so if Disney offered better discounts (i.e. free dining), we would have to change the AAA to take advantage of the Disney discount. When we made dining reservations, we were asked for our package reservation number so now I'm wondering if we change our package, will our dining reservations be canceled? I wouldn't think so, but if anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

They are not tied to each other. You can cancel AAA and rebook with Disney, no problem.

The only reason you give your reservation number during dining booking is to get the 180+10 booking window. Once that's passed, there's no tie at all.
