My dd is 11 which is considered adult. She still prefers pizza than fancy adult food. Can we order off the child menu and pay out of pocket for it.? We do have a 7yr who will be ordering of the child's menu? We do have a dining plan..

It may be cheaper to pay for meals out of pocket. I don't know the policy at every restaurant but I believe you can order off the children's menu and just be charged the plan credit it is cheaper for them

I have asked alot of ?'s about the dining plan & was told that an adult child can order off the childrens menu or the adult menu, but the child can only order off the childs menu. Someone told me that in one Family they would order an adult meal for the child & the child meal for the adult. I have a very picky daughter, so she will end up sharing some of my meals, if they can not sub, some of the childrens meal ( like fries) she loves fries.
I also read somewhere that someone used thier counter meal for snacks on their check out day because they did not use them all up during their stay & took them home & gave them to people, (like rice krispie mickeys,lolli-pops,ect). Of course if you are wanted to make sure you get your moneys worth, you might not want to switch your meals.
This person that talked about the snacks said that you can get 4 snacks for 1 quick counter service meal, $4.95 each, but of course I have not done this myself yet, so I can not say for sure that this is definetly do-able.

I would consider getting rid of the dining plan.

If your daughter is being charged for the adult plan but eating as a child, you could also pay for all her meals OOP and use the extra credits to eat more Signature meals. Using Adult credits to pay for Child meals is NOT economical at all.

What you need to do is research what places you would go to and what you'd likely eat and figure out what works best for you. There is no easy answer, each party eats differently. In my case, room-only discounts and the TiW card work much better than even "free" DDP.

If you are set on keeping the dining plan then this would be a good trip to do buffets and family service restaurants. Also, keep in mind that even though an entree may be listed as "served with steamed vegetables" or something similar , for example, it isn't set in stone. You can ask them to substitute fries for veggies or something similar.

We've decided against the dining plan as our kids are now at that "tween" stage. We would get charged for 2 adults but they eat less than one person combined. They continue to order off the kids menu and are happy to do it. Until they start eating like adults (which I'm sure will come soon enough), it's not worth it for us at this point.

I faullt Dinsey where I feel they deserve it. That being said, I have found them to be very accommodating to picky eaters, substitutions, swapping meals, etc... My son being 10 is on the Adult plan, my daughter being 9 is on the child plan. He is terribly picky and she (like her father) will eat anything set before her. He often eats her kids meal and she his adult meal. At CRT the waiter even brought him seconds as he eats portions relevant to his age, but still loves hot dogs, nuggets, cheese pizza, etc.. Granted for what they price CRT at, they should go buy and prepare whatever you want. It's an example of the line folks still working hard to help us have a magical day. I don't believe we have ever been denied or challenged on a substitution or variation from what's on the menu/ sign.

We went in August with my family and my MIL came along with one of my niece's and nephew. My niece is 10 and was on the adult Dining plan but used her point on the kids menu every single meal. It seemed like a waste of money to me but my MIL paid so I didn't say anything. Not sure what I will do in a couple years when my oldest is 10 and I am faced with the same decision. Though she is my best eater and will probably be thrilled to order off the adult menu.
