Dining plan questions

Hello,

Heading to DL from Florida in Sept for the Half Marathon. I purchased the dining plan for our trip. Wanted to know if I should book an Ariels World of Color combo? If so, how does it work with the dining plan? Can I pay the difference? Should I even get it? Can I enjoy the show without having to do the reserved seat thing?

Please tell me everything, I want to make an educated decision.

Thanks
Frank

It's similar to booking a DHS Fantasmic dining package with Mama Melrose's if you've ever done that before. You have to check in, eat, and then pay before they fork over your Fastpasses for World of Color. At Ariel's the World of Color menu gives you a choice of antipasti (cured meats and shellfish or grilled vegetables and cheeses), main course (Santa Maria Style Tri-tip, Fillet of Redfish, Spinach and Ricotta Agnolotti, Herb Crusted Chicken Breast, Mafalde Pasta with Italian Sausage, and a mixed seafood dish called Cioppino), and desserts (Chocolate Molten Cake, Passion Fruit Quenelles, and World of Color Film Strip (white chocolate)). The cost is $37 per person (unless they've raised it since a few months ago). You are not allowed to use your Dining Plan vouchers (they use vouchers at DL unlike WDW) for World of Color dining packages.

When you get your Fastpasses, bear in mind they start lining people up very early for World of Color, it's that popular. A CM should be asking and looking for people that chose the dining option, so speak up when you see them. You'll be taken to a special waiting area, then eventually to the dining reserve area, which is excellent seating...or standing I should say, since you stand the whole time. If you choose not to do the dinner package, get those Fastpasses for World of Color ASAP, like you would getting them for Soarin' at Epcot or Toy Story Mania at DHS. You'll probably be closer to the show going through the dinner package than you would not doing it, unless you're one of those people who like camping out for two hours to get that "perfect place" to watch.
